Spoke with a friend of mine who is a chief steward at the Emirates. He said Rafa gave his team a serious going over in the dressing room after the game. The dressing room was locked for over an hour. Then he went for a drink in AW office........

Rafa Benitez, mild mannered "let's focus on the next game" gentle-manager for the media, team-b******ing hair dryer impersonator behind closed doors...

Surely the new 'Library' would have decent soundproofing. Or maybe they were all on here reading what we had to say?

There was a close up of him in the dugout near the end and he was writing in the notebook, I reckoned it was the names of who he was going to sell in January and that it was probably giving him writers cramp.

should have tried it at half-time, Rafa.

At half-time it (whatever it was :D) wasn't really warranted, except perhaps in a couple of individual cases. We had just lost a woeful late goal and were looking (gormlessly) solidish up till then.

I hope you are right.

Rafa was interviewed about 10-15 mins after the game on Sky though.

Well he had to give them a right going at considering most of them are buggering off for international duty so that was the only time he could fit in a rollocking.

Not so sure about that. We were the better team for parts of the first half.

well, whatever he did say at half-time it didn't work very well, did it?

We were also the better side in the opening exchanges of the second half, so it probably had some, but not a lasting effect. The two second half goals were f***ing disastrous. I had a nightmare about the Galls goal last night.

I think if I was a footie manager,I'd need minders with me to prevent the possibility of physical violence.

My training sessions after a heavy defeat would resemble something out of a Gulag.

"Play like you have no heart, lads. Do not give a schidt. Lack imagination. Give up now as they'll probably win. Not you, Xabi, stop nodding you sap."

Whatever he said after the game at ot didn't work. Ditto Stamford Bridge, and the Reebok, and Woodison.....

I'm amazed he still even tries. A lesser man would probably have walked by now

If he did say that then it worked perfectly
