Will Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 We are nearly at the end of this great series, and I reckon the top 10 that are missing have to be (in no particualr order): Dalglish, Rush, Liddell, Barnes, Fowler, Carragher, Souness, Keegan, Emlyn, Gerrard So, what do you reckon will be the final order? So far we have had: 100 - John Wark 99 - Erik Meijer 98 - Tom Bromilow 97 - Nigel Clough 96 - Nicolas Anelka 95 - Geoff Strong 94 - Sam Hardy 93 - Momo Sissoko 92 - Harry Chambers 91 - Titi Camara 90 - Neil Mellor 89 - Donald McKinlay 88 - Mark Walters 87 - Alun Evans 86 - Nick Barmby 85 - Alec Lindsay 84 - Howard Gayle 83 - Michael Thomas 82 - Phil Taylor 81 - Alan A'Court 80 - Tommy Lawrence 79 - Patrik Berger 78 - Sam Raybould 77 - David Johnson 76 - Ronny Rosenthal 75 - Brian Hall 74 - Jack Balmer 73 - Peter Crouch 72 - E.Longworth 71 - Paul Walsh 70 - Ronnie Moran 69 - Jari Litmanen 68 - Gary Gillespie 67 - Djibril Cisse 66 - Matt Busby 65 - Mark Wright 64 - Vladimir Smicer 63 - Joey Jones 62 - Danny Murphy 61 - Pepe Reina 60 - Rob Jones 59 - Craig Johnston 58 - Stephane Henchoz 57 - Stan Collymore 56 - Bob Paisley 55 - Steve Finnan 54 - Gordon Hodgson 53 - Markus Babbel 52 - Ray Houghton 51 - Chris Lawler 50 - Albert Stubbins 49 - Alex Raisbeck 48 - Peter Thompson 47 - Sammy Lee 46 - Gerry Byrne 45 - Jimmy Case 44 - Dietmar Hamann 43 - John Arne Riise 42 - Steve McMahon 41 - Elisha Scott 40 - Jamie Redknapp 39 - Steve Nicol 38 - Sami Hyypia 37 - Terry McDermott 36 - Jerzy Dudek 35 - Mark Lawrenson 34 - John Toshack 33 - Xabi Alonso 32 - Gary McAllister 31 - Alan Kennedy 30 - Ronnie Whelan 29 - Ron Yeats 28 - Ray Kennedy 27 - Phil Thompson 26 - John Aldridge 25 - Tommy Smith 24 - 24 - Luis Garcia 23 - Steve Heighway 22 - Steve McManaman 21 - Ian St John 20 - Phil Neal 19 - Peter Beardsley 18 - David Fairclough17 - Bruce Grobbelaar16 - Jan Mølby15 - Ian Callaghan14 - Michael Owen13 - Roger Hunt12 - Alan Hansen11 - Ray Clemence

Ronnie Whelan Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 1. The King2. Stevie Gerrard3. John Barnes My top three.
Cobs Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 1 - Dalglish2 - Gerrard3 - Rush4 - Fowler5 - Barnes6 - Souness7 - Carragher8 - Hughes9 - Keegan10 - Liddell
Ronnie Whelan Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I doubt Emile will appear in the top 10, so its strange that Anelka makes it in and he does not.

dorgie Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 (edited) Why would Eric Meijer, Nigel Clough, Howard Gayle, Paul Walsh for example get in the top 100 before Jim Beglin ? After all Beglin was an integral part of that great double winning side. Edited September 20, 2006 by dorgie
Guz Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Almost 300 games and our most succesful manager - how on earth is Bob Paisley 56th??
madaboutlfc Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Almost 300 games and our most succesful manager - how on earth is Bob Paisley 56th??maybe the word ,"players" gives it away a bit
Guz Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 (edited) maybe the word ,"players" gives it away a bit Yes, and he played almost 300 times for the club which led to him staying on as part of the the back-room staff and the rest is history. I would've thought if he was to be included at all, it would be right at the top as no other person 'shook the kop' as much. But if we are talking about achievments as a player and as a player ONLY, i'm probably just talking s**** Edited September 20, 2006 by Guz

_00_deathscar Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Welcome to the modern world and the power of the media.
Cobs Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Fowler ahead of the likes of Hunt and St John, Carragher ahead of Hansen, Thompson, Smith and Yeats. I find that odd.i agree (except about St. John)
CaptainXabi Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I think Gerrard may pip first. Voting was around FA Cup Final time wasn't it .
Guest Cameron Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I'm surprised Gary Mac is only 32nd in that list, behind Luis Garcia!
Guest carlin Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 It's not about our best players, it's about their impact on the Kop, and it was apparently voted by 110,000 supporters as well. You can't be really that surprised with any of it then really. I'm delighted that Billy Liddell seems to have made it in the top ten though - a true legend, who younger fans should be educated about.
Guest Jako Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 1 - Dalglish2 - Gerrard3 - Rush4 - Fowler5 - Barnes6 - Souness7 - Carragher8 - Hughes9 - Keegan10 - Liddell That's how it's gonna be.
_00_deathscar Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I'm surprised Gary Mac is only 32nd in that list, behind Luis Garcia! I'm not. As fantastic as Gary Mac was, Garcia really did shake up the Kop didn't he?
Koogan Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Almost 300 games and our most succesful manager - how on earth is Bob Paisley 56th?? He didn't shake the Kop properly though
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Dunno how it will end up, but this would be my choice, given the ten (likely) remaining: 1 - Dalglish 2 - Liddell 3 - Rush 4 - Fowler 5 - Barnes 6 - Gerrard7 - Souness 8 - Hughes 9 - Keegan10 - Carragher He didn't shake the Kop properly though Bob's old troll should have at least made the top 100
Toni Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 1. Dalglish2. Lidell3. Barnes4. Rush5. Gerrard6. Keegan7. Hughes8. Souness9. Carragher10. Fowler
Will Posted September 21, 2006 Author Posted September 21, 2006 Well I reckon it will be: 1. Dalglish2. Gerrard3. Rush4. Barnes5. Liddell6. Souness7. Fowler8. Keegan9. Hughes10. Carragher
Tetti Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I think Keegan should be higher than some are predicting.
