Not sure about any dress code in particular parts of the stadium, a lot of corporate seats in grounds don't allow colours, or jeans or trainers for that matter. One of the reasons they'll specify no colours however is that they'll be giving those tickets to non Liverpool fans as well.

I know dude, not being ungratefull or anything, but its a long way for us to go to be told you aint getting in, and he was desperate to wear his new shirt etc. Spoke to him just now and he's alright about it, just pleased to be going again.

Maybe you've also got passes to the director's bar for before/after the match? I've been in there a couple of times and all you can have is maybe a scarf or a discreet badge or they won;t let you in...
