Our players didn't perform "on the day". They are better than this. Move on!

 

Reina - 5 - Bad ladt goal - maybe needs to be rested for a while (complacent?)

 

Finnan - 6 - a bit shakey

Carragher - 5 - Back too soon?

Hyppia - 6

Aurilo - 6 Busy, tried to make things happen

 

Garcia - 6 good first half

Sossisko - 6 - battled well

Alonso - 5 off the pace

Gerrard - 5 never got started

 

Fowler - 5 - not the same

Crouch - 5 - not strong enough (see Kuyt)

 

Subs:

Riise - () - bad luck, we need him

Pennent - 5 - should have started

Kuyt - 7- Very busy, strong and caused them problems

 

 

No excuses, internationals effected other teams as well

 

Kuyt and Bellamy - should be the main strikers. Agger should have continued.

 

Like I said, the ones who started are better than this. We will recover. A loss will probably do the team good!

Garcia 6?? Apart from one shot in the first half he was poor - he done nothing but back out of challenges and give the ball away! How he stayed on the pitch as a STRIKER in a game we where 2-0 down ahead of Crouch or Fowler really is beyond me!!!

Don't know how you can give the defense those scores. If you're saying no excuses then we have to be honest and say the players need to put the hype of this season behind them and get their f***ing heads together or the Premiership will be so far away again that it'll be too hard to catch up on again.

Spot on, Carra and Hyypia didn't have a clue who's marking who, both got sucked in to the left side and Finnan was left to cover the man that probably Carra should've covered, which left Cahill free

even if cahill missed, they got 2 men behind to strike the ball.

(compare with our CM - momo wont rush towards goal anticipating the ball, unlike gerrard)

If Cahill missed, Finnan would've cleared it, had Carra and Hyypia done their job properly

 

We can just call this one a one-off and both of them just had off-days, but really would want Agger in central defence atm. Also, someone apart from Aurelio at left back. He's not a left back in this league, also, Sami has problems communicating with him and they don't play well together on the left side at all.

We didn't get the ball up to Crouchy enough, having said they they were double-teaming him the whole time, he got very little time on it at all.

Kuyt and Bellamy should be starting every game except when injured or in desperate need of a rest. Crouch + Fowler is possibly our worst combination.

Really, genius? So you would have played Bellamy and Kuyt yesterday, Tuesday and next Sunday on the back of two internationals in 7 days?

 

I'm all for playing a settled side, but not when the players are fatigued. I really can't see the advantages of that, hence the much needed big squad.
