I think so. Fantastic game against the Argies yesterday and been hugely impressive all season.

hardly a position we need to be looking at. We have some of the best midfielders in the league, and he isn't better than any of them, so he'd be one hell of an expensive bench warmer.

He's going tp Spuds anyway, when they flog Carrick to the Mancs.

£7m interest of the Spurs before the WC

Yoda, is that you?

Anyhow, I'm guessing that we really don't need him.

Gerrard, Momo and Alonso have the central midfield covered.

i thought he was had a good first half, but pretty anominous in the second

didnt the mancs have a firm interst in him last year as well? if so, i think his price tag would be pretty steep, Kolo Toures brother wasnt half bad neither, and what a name, YA YA

I can't help thinking of Babb, Diouf and so on.

Buying players who have had good world cups could lead to our downfall.

I think that goes for most of their players, but that Yaya Touré will be a hit whereever he goes.

If we're thinking of good World Cup performances, that Sancho from Trinidad and Tobago was phenomenal ;) Think he plays in the Nationwide or something :D

Quality side. Going to be interesting to see the other two teams at 2 today. Group of death IMO as Serbia are no slouches either.

Re: the thread title, we have Momo, end of discussion.

Yaya Toure is going to Arsenal i think, or atleast they are trying to tie him up at the moment.

i thought he was already on chelsea's books

I read somewhere that Arsene Wenger put in a bid for Yaya Toure around christmas but the bid was rejected. The president wouldn't sell and told Wenger to come back in the summer. Haven't heard more since.

I thought Mascherano looked decent and disiplined in the centre. Since Haman is leaving I think a young defensive midfielder is coming in. Hence the rumours of Zapata. But I do believe the chances that Zapata is coming is more believeable because of the price.

They had him (Yaya Toure) on trial a couple of times, a mate of mine who's an Arsenal fan was stunned when they decided not to sign him.

They tried to but he didn't want to go to them at the time. Wasn't impressed by them apparently. Last January they had an £8 million bid rejected but Arsenal are apparently after submitting a £9 million bid for him.

If Arsenal were going to sign him they would've done so when he was at Beveren, the club they own.

Owned, isn't it?

I thought GOAL (the joint venture) was set up for five years, which means Beveren is now independent again.

They are on the verge of bankrupcy though.

He's said that he doesn't fancy a move to Arsenal, and would prefer Liverpool, Chelski or Manchester United. His primary reason is bitterness towards Arsene Wenger....
