It says that the bonus features will show the goals to the final. I hope they go a bit further than that. There were some classic games on the way to the final

 

- Luton 5-3, found ourselves 3-1 down and scored 4 in the last 30 mins incl two dingers from Xabi

- Mancs 1-0, its always great to turf them out of the Cup

- Birmingham 7-0, will the DVD have enough space to get all these goals on

- Chelsea 2-1, always, always satisfying.

 

I hope they do a good job on it because its a Cup run and a Cup final that will be hard to beat.

But I just think it's a shame the club have approved it and are going down that route. Just when we got over the press boring us rotten with the one man team bollorks for ages, which i did find disrespectful to our team and manager - now the club approve a dvd with that title, Fools.

- Carra was scoring OG's

- Reina was giving them goals

- Sami was missing pens

- Crouchie was straying offside for chances to score

- Xabi was giving the ball away

- Kewell p!ss*d off again

Can't let that slide. Momo was f***ing colossal, especially in extra-time, when he was almost taking the game to West Ham single handily.

 

I thought Momo was right up there for MOTM to be honest, the lad was a power in the midfield when the rest were falling like flies, but he went down with cramp at the end of the extra time.

Momo went down with cramp towards the end of the second half of extra time - long after Gerrard had been limping around the pitch. Plus i think Reina also may have played some part in us inning the cup seeing as he saved three penalties!!!

 

I think the marketing department at LFC need a clip around the ear for coming out with this.

It was just lucky that he dived the right way. And dont even get me started on how lucky he was to save that shot the end of extra time

Joking aside, I think you are right. Its not fair on the team as a whole. Plus for me, the run to the final was just as good as the final itself by knocking out Man Utd and Chelsea

I think it is an utter disgrace to single out one player from that match. I would think that Rafa would be disgusted also given how often he says he doesn't like to talk about individual players.

 

I'll be f***ing furious if the dvd is confirmed as that title.

Is refering to the 1953 final as 'The Matthews final' disrespectful to all the other players? No-one moans about that and he didn't even score. in fact Mortensen got a hat-trick!!

That final will be forever known as 'The Gerrard final' no matter what we call the DVD and i doubt any of the players give a flying f***

I know what you mean but I bet the rest of the team were glad he could still swing his leg after 10 months motoring around... He is the club captain and he sets the example that most of them are willing to follow. I think the team spirit is strong enough to avoid this becoming an issue

Agree. And it's also a firmer notch in FA Cup history for LFC.

 

At any rate, that final was ALL about Gerrard, and if ever a final should be linked to a player's name it's that one.

b******s. everyone is going completely over the top about this. When i think of the 1995 league cup final i think of Mcmanaman. When i think of the 2001 cup final i think of Owen, when i think of the 2006 final i'll think of Gerrard. He was f***ing boss. it was his final.

 

 

I also wouldnt be surprised if Stevie wasnt more than a tad embarassed about this.

The 95 final wasn't named THE MACCA FINAL in big letters, nor was the 2001 final named THE OWEN FINAL! either. It'd be nice if they at least put 'Liverpool FC - 2006 FA Cup Winners' or something before 'THE GERRARD FINAL!'. I'll make my own cover if it bugs me (thank you Photoshop) and stick it over the old one.

 

FWIW, Reina made some world class saves that were vital to the game, if not as much as Stevie's contribution. Momo was a colossus too.
