On the other hand they could be convinced that no other suitors are likely to be able to take on our debt levels, and that the club is likely to go into administration. At which point they'll be able to mount a bid at a much reduced rate.

A bit odd. You'd have thought that if you wanted to buy LFC then now would be the perfect time (when it's for sale, like). Waiting until after we're bought by somebody else seems a strange strategy.
