  1. He's a central striker though isn't he? Be odd to bring in a 3rd when we are struggling to find a system that plays 2. I think we want Barcola given we haven't got involved in trying for Semenyo.
  2. Yep, he wants City. Confirmed.
  3. Apparently Rogers has a release clause as well.
  4. Mac Allister situation is very odd. Genuinely looks like he's past it. He's 26 and as far as I know not had a bad Injury. Proper strange.
  5. I doubt that was entirely his decision.
  6. Ancelotti, Tuchel, Enrique, and Klopp would all be top-tier choices, though none are currently available and may not be by summer. Alonso, in my view, belongs in the next tier alongside names like Nagelsmann. I just wouldn’t rush to appoint Alonso if he suddenly became available in the next few weeks. Just my opinion
  7. Haha Bayern are really bitter about losing out on Wirtz.
  8. It's mad Salah has 4 goals and 2 assists in 13 league games and is having a shocker. Saka has 4 goals and 1 assist in 13 league games and nothing is said.
  9. I don’t think I’ve said anything controversial. I haven’t suggested he’s a poor manager or ruled him out as a future option. My point was simply that, at this stage, he’s still relatively unproven at the top level. If Slot were to leave, there are other candidates I’d personally prefer.
  10. I’m not fully convinced about Alonso as a manager. Yes, he won the league in Germany using a 3-4-2-1 system, but that’s not a style I’d want us to adopt long term. At Madrid, he’s not using that formation, yet he’s already under pressure and close to being sacked. That raises the question, does he have the ability to build a top team with a traditional back four? The jury’s still out. On top of that, he comes across as quite dull and lacking in personality.
  11. Just my opinion, but I wouldn’t want any of the, or that type of manager. They’re unproven at the highest level. I understand your point about Slot, and if we’re highlighting the positives, he did win us the league. But the negative might be what we’re seeing now: no experience in handling adversity.
  12. So incredibly frustrating as a fan to not be aware of the full facts to be able to form an objective opinion. Salah 'appears' to be getting quite a bit of support.
  13. Interesting comments from Souey... https://www.football365.com/news/liverpool-souness-brands-fans-muppets-slot-sack-calls
  14. If he wins stuff he can look like Roy Hodgson for all I care
  15. Depends what we want to believe though doesn't it? Slot obviously wanted another CB it's not his fault it didn't happen. There are also reports he wanted to keep Diaz and even for the club to offer him a new contract.
  16. That's fair, although it's possible he may have learnt from previous experiences. It feels like how he's managing Bellingham for example is fair.
  17. I have been really impressed with how Tuchel has handled the England job so far. (Early days I know) But, In particular it's clear he is the boss and isn't afraid to manage the bigger names.
  18. And there will always be up and coming top coaches, I just don't want it to be us taking the chance/risk on them.
  19. So why do you think the club are not acting? Suitable replacement being available?
  20. On the other hand, constantly sacking managers and bringing in interim replacements mid-season hasn’t worked either. I’m not sure what the right solution is, but I do know what I don’t want: an interim manager, unless it’s someone of Klopp’s calibre. Likewise, I don’t want a permanent appointment unless it’s a world-class manager with a proven track record of winning major trophies and handling top players. I think appointing someone like Gerrard as an interim, or hiring Glasner, or Iraola on a permanent basis is exactly what United would do. (Except obviously in United's case it was Giggs, Solskjaer or Carrick as an Interim)
  21. Sorry Hass but yes.
