Why would Suarez want to sign if he knows Torres is leaving? Also didn't Balague claim Pacheco wanted to leave and a week later he signed a new contract!

I'm not concerned. This Chelsea bid seems to be bravado, of course we arent going to accept £35 mill a couple of days before the transfer deadline. For this to happen Chelsea need to bid £50 and Torres has to state he wants to leave. Obviously I am biased but I don't see Chelsea as being a better option for him. The team is ageing and needs new signings, there is uncertainty with regards to Ancelotti as it stands they have similar problems to ourselves.

If its really that simple then the obvious question is why are we not matching or making a better offer? Obviously at this stage it's purely speculation but I was under the impression signing the best young talent on the market was high on the list of the new owners plans? Seeing Chamberlain sign for Arsenal would suggest otherwise...

If true it's ridiculous Arsenal keep ending up signing the best young talent on the market, what is there pulling power? Sure they have history of bringing through youth but if these players are good enough they will make the breakthrough regardless of what club they play for.

I think we hold all the cards, sure a fit in form Torres we don't want to lose but if he does want to leave and it's true he has a £50 mill clause we don't have to sell for a penny less and who will pay that? And besides dosent the FIFA fair play rules come into play this summer? Also Southgate made a good point at half time, Torres performed exactly like this for Spain during the world cup despite having the best midfield in the world supplying him, think there is more to it then him being unhappy playing for us.
