Maybe it’s harvey asking for the obligation to buy
-
Seems mad doesn't it. Someone that was good enough to play in a Jurgen Klopp lead winning side isn't deemed good enough to play for us now when we are nowhere near as good and desperately short on bodies.

When I say hit the wall I mean financially. City are fine cos they are state backed and have bottomless pockets. Unless something dodgy is going on behind the scenes the Chelsea owners don’t have endless money and the bills going to come due eventually
-
I don’t think it is working for them. I think they are losing money hand over fist and it’s eventually going to hit the wall. The massive player price inflation has bought them some time. Aside from fees for players their operating expenses must be through the roof in terms of wages, agent fees, legal fees etc. of course, the current owners could just be a front for someone with very deep pockets that can afford to lose the money. It will probably all come out in time.

They’ve just signed Ibrahim Phone. Camara”s redundant

He doesnt need to force it. PSG are overstocked now and will need to sell. I dont think the danger is in them not selling, it's in someone else nicking in at the last minute and getting him before we do.

The only senior club source that should matter is Iraola. Does the manager see Nyoni as ready to step up? I doubt it and suspect he would prefer we brought someone in saying as he didn’t seem to want Jones to leave in the first place!

I’m starting to sound like Minteh’s dad in here but that’s being harsh. Arguably Minteh has done more at 22 than 22 year old Mo Salah. He could go on to be great. Maybe not Mo levels of greatness but very few acheive that. The profile comment was clearly in relation to being a left footer who likes to play on the right.

Wirtz’s numbers the season before were brilliant. That’s in both the champions league and Bundesliga. One season in a new country, coming into a team that was falling apart at the seams won’t have put clubs off him. Even if he isn’t amazing this season he would still attract interest next summer.

Couldn't agree more. The good news is that these are things that are coachable and can be done with the right attitude and concentration levels from players. The bad news is that its been happening for ages so I don't know how much the players are motivated to change. The mid's all want to be on the front foot. A more vocal captain that wasn't afraid to give them a rocket once in a while would definitely help.

It was two last week without Gakpo leaving. If they are being minge bags and using Gakpo to fund Barcola and Minteh they need to feck off. If Gakpo goes we need striker cover. Wouldn’t be averse to bringing mateta in for a low fee if palace are offloading him. Would at least give us a bit of physical presence up front.
-
Sounds like it might just be fitness. Not injured but not up to the level of fitness required. Guessing obviously. Feel a bit bad for Harvey. He doesn’t deserve to be in this position and would be a decent player for mid table teams.
-
True, but he didn’t lose three big senior players and not have them replaced.
-
I hear your a racist now father….. #fatherted

The manager basically said he needs Gakpo to cover Isak last week. Madness if we let him go and I can’t think of a Liverpool manager that hasn’t been backed in his first transfer window. Iraola is being properly undermined
-
I get what you are saying but Mo, Robbo, and Konate’s wages were probably 45m a year. Our wage bill must have come down a good bit.

Mane, Drogba, Essien, George Weah, Salif Diao.....These are all great players who are much closer to being from the same region as him. I could easily see why a young kid would from Gambia would idolise these players more than someone from Egypt. I'm no geography expert but aren't the two about as close as the UK and outer Siberia? Ok, the last one was a joke

Iraola has some job on his hands. I’ve never been so confused watching a Liverpool team in terms of what it is we need. Barcola and Minteh would help us but we still seem weak at right back, light up front, and I don’t see where Wirtz fits in. I think it’s either him or Dom but can’t see how you fit both in the same 11. Our league cup team is going to weaker than it’s ever been.
