I would assume the EPL know that any expulsion can’t come into effect until they have exhausted the appeals. If it could then I think they would have announced this during the summer and expelled them before the league started, replacing them with another team. You can’t really expel them during the season without giving yourself a massive headache e.g. TV contracts have X amount of games that need to be played and shown, what do you do about the games already played etc. They need to put a timeline in place for any appeals so they complete well before next season starts. Assuming they are unsuccessful City get expelled and a 4th team from the Championship comes up.

The best way to look at this is that everything happens for a reason. If we had won the league with Brendan and Suarez circumstances may never have transpired again to allow us to bring in the greatest manager of his generation and one of the greatest humans ever. Jurgen was meant to manage Liverpool FC and I wouldn’t change a single thing if it meant there was a possibility that we would have missed out on that. Nothing they have ever experienced could rival how it felt to be a Liverpool fan when Klopp’s team was steam rolling all of Europe and this just cements the fact that Pep is not on his level. He took him on with the deck stacked against him and still beat them. f*** City, the jokes on them.

We aren’t talking about what policies Andy Burnham is bringing in or what direction interest rates are heading in. I have 4 nephews in the early 20’s and all 4 of them absolutely know what is going on in Gaza to a level of understanding that they know playing this game is wrong. All that being said, this should never ever have been put on the players. The CEO who just spoke at the press conference, whatever his name is, should be ashamed of himself. I don’t understand why you think the majority of the players wouldn’t have an awareness of what is going on. It really is simple. The majority of the country don’t care what the ramifications are. The FAI are just in the process of throwing the players under the bus as we speak. Utterly disgraceful stuff from that FAI knob whoever he is.

The simple solution is for the FAI to show some back bone and call it off. No one can the single out any players. Not likely that they show back bone of their own accord but they should be getting pressured to do so by the govt and others.

Hopefully. It’s a disgrace that it has been left to the players to do this but the country is behind them calling it off. f*** the sanctions and anything that comes with it. It would be great if other nations show solidarity if they are sanctioned.

To be fair to Murphy he was a bit more on the fence while Jordan was being a complete prick. Saying Wirtz lacked the physicality etc. I don’t see him being any less physical than many players of similar size and stature so hopefully it all comes good. Time will tell. I’m bowing out from defending anymore at this point

Simon Jordan, Danny Murphy, Dean Saunders have all been talking lots of s*** about him in the last couple of weeks and that’s just the one’s I’ve seen. It’s way more than just carragher. Liverpool supporters should be supporting him….the clue is in the name. But instead plenty seem happy to be giving him a hard time as well.

I don’t think it’s realistic to have expected him to have stepped into last seasons s*** show and be a success. This season is only 5 games old and people are already talking about moving him on. Someone mentioned Veron….Veron came into a successful and functioning United team that won the league in one of the seasons he was there. He couldn’t fit in to that team and so was rightly deemed a failure. Wirtz hasn’t had that chance yet. He is part of the team and bears some of the responsibility but he is being disproportionately blamed here for the teams shortcomings. I think he deserves a fairer shake to be honest.

He was 21 when we signed him. Coming to a new club, in a new country, with sky high expectations while said club was imploding on the field. Not everyone has a cast iron mentality and certainly not at that age. Maybe he does need an arm around the shoulder and so what if he does. You don’t invest 100m+ on a young player and then abandon him after such a short period. Let’s give Iraola a chance to get the team playing well and see how he performs within it before writing him off.
