f*** them. Don't understand the mentality of going to a match to scream abuse at one player for 90 minutes. Harsh maybe, but will they be missed? No
-
It's hard to explain that level of idiocy. Rubbish doesn't cover it
-
Done well recently...hope it continues. Not as if we have doubts about his quality. It's there...just needs brought out and confidence will help that

If we were to make one signing in January who would you go for?
Regi replied to Iver's topic in Liverpool FC
Darijo Srna...or some equivalent player for the right hand side. Someone with experience -
That's bulls***. He's a good player...end of story. As for the England thing, 95% of their players look out of their depth because England are s****. You would hardly be breaking down the door to sign Stevie or Rooney going by England performances. Judging a player on that is pointless in the extreme. If we stick to the facts, Downing's one of the best in the league in terms of goals and assists. He also works hard, is good at set pieces and would provide genuine width. He's pretty much responsible for Boro being in the PL when you consider his immense contribution over the last 2 seasons. However, he can't really beat a man and hasn't got killer pace. Regardless, there are few better out there and possibly available. There must be every chance that he would improve significantly in a better team and under better guidance. At the right price, I think it would make sense

Laughable post. Finnan for 2 or 3 years with us was the best RB in the league. In fact, he was twice voted the best RB in the league before he even signed for us. Hard to fathom the idiocy of those who can't see that.
-
The best thing about that post is that you actually appear to have a desire to be taken seriously. Nothing like eternal optimism

Priceless

I've defended MO'N throughout this affair but I think that recently, his behaviour has been a bit nonsensical. It's hurting his own club as well as ours. The saga is deflecting attention from their pre-season preparations and preventing him from using the sizable kitty Barry's departure would bring. At the same time, it's giving Barry less time to settle in here and forcing him to sour his reputation with Villa fans by pushing for a move. While MO'N is right to get as much as he can for his player, a bit of common sense would go well. Barry is not an £18million player and I'd have thought 10 years good service to Villa would have earned him the right of a fair price. O'Neill ignores the fact that Barry is older than any of Masch, Carrick or Hargreaves were when they made their £18million moves, and age makes a big difference. The silly thing is that O'Neill has backed himself into a corner whereby he has an unhappy player sitting at home and of no use, and a willing buyer who know the situation and, if they have any sense, will bide their time and get their man eventually

You think too much. Keane's attitude on the pitch is top notch. His workrate is superb and he has never given any indication of being a problem player. The fact that Nando and Berbatov aren't similar isn't really important. Keane would still be playing a withdrawn role, which he has played to great effect in the past. Forget how many goals he got in the past as well. Playing in a better team, he would score more goals. He's got all the attributes that Rafa would want.
-
Very true. Berbatov has definitely got more than Keane but after him, Robbie is as good as anyone. Plus he gives 100% every time. Would be a very astute signing IMO
-
Actually Dunphy knows dick all about football and is just in the RTE studio to stir it up and create a bit of controversy. His comments during the Liverpool-Inter game in the Champions League were hilarious. "No-one's ever heard of Cordoba Bill." "Roma finished nowhere in the league last year Bill." "Inter are a nothing team Bill." And the classic: "Ireland have better players than Inter Milan." The man knows diddly squat
-
As a back-up striker to Nando, Bent would be pretty much ideal but I can't see him switching clubs to warm the bench even more
-
A couple of good games? Are you serious? Arshavin has been immense all season, and not just this season but the season before. Did you not watch Zenit's run to UEFA Cup success? Obviously not, because that post is wrong in so many ways
-
No-one denied it was a great pass, but to say it was more important than the actual assist, which was also excellent and the final pass before the goal, is embarrassing nonsense. You can trawl the Net and dredge up everything you want...Fabregas got Man of the Match with the Press Association. Doesn't make any difference. For the last number of seasons, Fabregas has proved himself a superior player to Iniesta. Iniesta, is very good, Fabregas is one of the best in the world. Simple
-
Both contributions more important? Such utter garbage. How the hell do you judge the importance of contributions? Get a grip man
-
I'm in work so I watched with the sound off. Plus I judge them on more than one match. Iniesta is a good player but he is simply not at Fabregas's level. The lad has been incredible for about 3 seasons and can play centre mid or just off the striker equally comfortably. He has been outstanding when called upon in this tournament and is getting better all the time. One of the best players in the world, no question. It's not even a contest. If you think Silva was better than him to night your head is in a mess
-
Total b******s. Fabregas is twice the player of Iniesta, good as he is
-
He's been a class player for years, and was outstanding in Zenit's run to UEFA Cup success. Hardly a case of one good game ...just that he's more in the limelilght now. Top, top talent
-
Albelda is on the downslope. Wouldn't be a wise acquisition IMO. Well past his best and would be too risky...not in terms of the fee but in terms of providing the necessary midfield platform. Barry is expensive, no question, but he provides the presence I think we need in the middle, especially with Stevie as pretty much a second striker
-
Van Der Sar Corluka Carvalho Kovac Van Bronckhorst Sneijder Senna Modric Ronaldo Villa Van Nistelrooy
-
Totally irrelevant Not true. Barry's final ball is excellent, and will be better again in a better team. Xabi is the best of the lot, but has had more than one 'unusual' season. As much as I would love the lad to stay, it must be said that other Premiership teams had worked out how to stifle him by denying him space and time on the ball. Barry may well prove a better option in the rough and tumble of the league
-
Suppose each to their own. I've watched Barca a fair bit recently and I think he's been poor. He was awful against United in both legs and it was his attitude rather than any serious injuries that were apparently the cause of his absence. A good player at his best but I'd rather a much younger option like Silva or Capel. That's proper building for the future
-
Why? He looks a shadow of the player he was, and was a cheat at the best of times. Wouldn't want him in any deal. I'd much rather get someone on the upgrade than him.
-
Unfortunately O'Neill is right to be angry. I'm sure Rafa would be equally furious if Chelsea made a similar move for Stevie when we were chasing Europe. The 'Liverpool of old' would not have done it this way. Pity the Liverpool of old has been trampled on in the last year
