No Carroll, no Coates and no sterling on the bench. So so frustrating. I am probably the oldest poster on this forum and I can honestly say I have never been so frustrated.

Played well until they scored. Kenny seems to be taking the soft decisions - keeps picking Jamie- pulls Jonjo off when he was trying hard - pulls Carroll off when it was obvious this game meant a lot to him and he was no worse than anyone else. 2-0 down and no changes until only 15 mins left. What was Henderson going to change in that time ? Was Sterling injured ? Some bad decisions but we have got to make our own luck. Sorry Kenny but when I hear you saying that all your signings are playing well and Downing has exceeded expectations then I think the game has passed you by. Maybe you should have taken a step back at the end of last season (hindsight I know ) I love you Kenny but I think Rafa is our only hope.

this time last year everybody was very happy with the signing of Carroll and Suarez. everyone thought we should buy Charlie Adam. Downing was the best alternative if we couldnt have Young. Enrique was fine. The only real surprise was Henderson. Well i dont think Henderson offers anymore than Shelvey but outside of free kicks,corners etc adam runs himself into the ground and provides an outlet. Check your stats and charlie covers more ground than most. What i cant understand is why Carroll does not get more time - why Carra is preferred to Coates - why Bellamy was left on the bench for so long.We may have been in control but the writing was on the wall well before the changes were made. I am a great fan of Pepe but every week the oppos goalie plays a blinder and theyhave two shots on goal and score. Most of you probably cant remember Ray Clemence but he was always ready for the oppositions rare shot. To sum up I would say that Downing has disappointed and Henderson has not justiied the money spent but carra's time is up, pepe needsto lift his concentration and even Kenny needs to look at his team selection and the timing of his substitutes.

Several of the Chileans would improve us i.e. Sanchez, Valdivian ?, Islar and Fernandez but not speedy G.

Cant believe people talking about Carragher and not Hughes ,Thompson (Phil) or Tommy Smith.I would discount Gerrard and Torres due to their injury records and yes I Know they play a lot more games now. We talk about Gerrard's support but can any of you remember the stars in Billy Liddell's days ? None- Liddell played wherever he was needed with Jimmy Payne and Kevin Baron (even Kevin Lewis) How many world cups would they have played in? Heighway and Thompson (Peter) changed games more than any other winger including Barnes.Reina is the only player currently (possibly Torres in 5 years time) who compete with the old teams and then there was Ian St John who made Liverpool tick. Get your old videos out if they go back that far and check because most of you werent born in the glory days. In those days we could put the likes of Colin Irwin and Howard Gayle in and carry them the way United do now. Sorry I know I'm an old fart but that's my opinion and I'm as entitled as the next. P.S. Kenny would be in my team as well.

Dani Guiza Watching the Barcelona- Mallorca game on ESPN and commentators were raving about him. He's scored 26 goals this season is leading goalscorer and its years since anyone got near that figure. Supposedly many clubs are after him but I haven't heard of him before. He is 27 and his winning goal was reminiscent of Fowler. I am sure Rafa would know of him. Maybe he could be the surprise ?

Reports re. his performances for the reserves suggested he was composed but questioned his pace but after watching this game tonight I think we have a star. Nerveless debut and now wonder about some of the other reserves. Poor old Arsene must have wondered who the hell is this.

Know its been said before but I think Rafa is really missing Paco. When you look at Fergie he's always had a good assistant beit Joe Royle, Mclaren or Queiroz and all of them seem to be more successful as assistants than managers. United seemed to struggle when Queiroz left for Real and picked up when he returned. Rafa seems to have a stubborn personality and I guess its unlikely that Paco will return but I think he needs a more outgoing personality between him and the players. Not shore whether Thommo or Sammy would be ok or Aldo. Any ideas?
