  1. Because then they can't claim all the credit for turning fortunes around.
  2. We have to do something in the last ten days. Staying still and "saving the money" is going to get us nowhere.
  3. Johnson runs at players without being scared of losing it and scores a few goals here and there. He's better than Downing, who does neither. I'd sign Johnson and then try and sell Downing before the window closes.
  4. This is what DH meant when he referred to us being fed a load of s***. We were led to believe we were getting Sahin when it was nothing of the sort. Ayre's a stupid c*** for this, there's no getting away from it. Probably his arrogance and self-importance allowing him to get a few minutes of "look how good I am and look what I know" in with someone.
  5. That QPR/Chelsea game was great to watch from a tactical perspective.
  6. f*** off Purslow you c***
  7. Looks like a throwaway comment to me rather than any attempt to undermine anyone. It wouldn't surprise me though - he wouldn't have flown to Miami to meet him "for a chat".
  8. Maybe if we sit on the 18 yard line and stick Lucas right in front of him. If he's turned or has players running at him, we're f***ed. He's just not mobile enough or quick enough any more to get by.
  9. Because his appearance from the bench indicates he's third choice rather than fourth and likely to be in the team against a City side who attack with pace and will have players like Tevez who will run straight at Carragher with the ball. He's not up to the job any more and should not, under any circumstances, be in the team unless there's an injury crisis. That's why we're talking about him. It's not some vendetta, it's a pressing issue given Agger's ban. I am aware that you practically genuflect when you see him, but he's just not up to scratch as a player for where we want to be.
  10. Carragher shouldn't really be at the club any more. He's not remotely good enough these days.
  11. Given it's Kenny it was a bitter pill to swallow, but we looked completely lost last year and I didn't really see it improving.

  15. He stopped being relevant once he moved to Real, didn't get in the team and within the year they'd signed Robinho and Baptista to make him fifth choice. He was then bought by a mid-table team because no-one would else would pay the money and signed to be about fifth choice again by United because he was free. He'd do well to remember the above.
  16. DH was right in this regard. We've been fed some complete bulls*** about transfers through the media.
  17. Pass the ball around on the ground. We're talking as if passing the ball around and moving when you don't have the ball is some new interesting never-before-seen system.
  18. As in it's not as if he's coming in and trying to get a team that played hoofball to play pass and move. They should be familiar with the concept given Kenny was trying to do similar during his spell here.
  19. Getting hammered isn't acceptable. This isn't the reinvention of the wheel. It should be refinement of the system Kenny was trying to play. If the defence going missing and us getting hammered is a by-product of telling them to pass the ball about more then we're in bother.
  20. Well done to Ian Ayre for securing precisely none of the two players we were targeting.
  21. No-one is riding a Rodgers Out bandwagon here. Let's not get dramatic. The concern is that we went to West Brom with a team of expensive, highly paid, international class players and were outplayed and outfought. Had we lost by five, we couldn't really have complained. We're not reinventing the wheel with pass and move football. I'm not having a 3-0 hammering away to West Brom being anywhere near acceptable, nor is it anywhere near acceptable to suggest we can expect more of the same. This is not 1988 Wimbledon being turned into 2011 Barcelona. There are quality players in that first XI (let's ignore the squad not being very good overall). Games like yesterday shouldn't be happening, and if it happens a couple more times we're looking at something endemic. This is an extension of what Kenny was trying to do. The players should know how to pass a f***ing football about. It's no excuse for the defence going AWOL and Pepe Reina being our best player in a 3-0 defeat away to, with all due respect etc., a pretty mediocre team.
  22. "Taking time" is not the same as "have a load of players who aren't good enough" and "get thumped three-probably-should-have-been-six" by West Brom. I'm sorry, but that team yesterday had Reina, Skrtel, Agger, Glen Johnson, Lucas, Joe Allen, Gerrard and Suarez. It cost a fortune. They are experienced international players. And yet we got hammered. By West Brom. Any suggestion that we can expect more days like yesterday is wholly unacceptable. Even one game like that isn't on given the quality we have. The squad is s***, but the XI that played yesterday were better players than West Brom and no amount of "they need to adjust" compensates for a dire and chaotic defensive performance.
  23. I think that's probably slightly unfair on Rodgers, but it did suggest that they were basically dispensing with success in anything like the short-term. Which is fine, but we're relying on Rodgers doing a mini-Shankly in terms of building the club up against huge odds. I just don't know if he has it in him. Probably not, given so few really do.
  24. He wouldn't get in the Bolton team. He's just not very good at football. Going out on loan would be good because it means he's not getting in the team ahead of anyone else.
  25. Joe Cole. 100K a week, spent on pies and other gluttonous food stuffs. f*** off Purslow.
