Twas the same in our year, there were about twenty odd of us who went regularly. Most of us went to Goodison with the Evertonians on the other week as well. Nothing to beat getting off at Moorfields and legging it like f*ck to get to the Northern Line. Those escalators were a nightmare.

Got to agree with this. I don't think I missed a league game that season and like Pip says, I was still at school myself (his school funnily enough!) and so the whole spectacle was a whole lot better, absolutely no cynicism in me in those days. It gave me some of my best memories from the game, the main ones being the 5-0 against Forest (one of the first night games I ever went to) and Barnes' goal against QPR in the 4-0. In fact Barnes' peformance that day is still the best display I've ever seen from any Liverpool player. The 2000-01 season runs it pretty close though. Not the greatest in terms of the brand of football but in terms of making us dream again - just wonderful.

As I said earlier, if players don't like the predominantly fair and equitable system that they choose to enter & pays them millions of pounds a year then why not go and work in another industry like the rest of us have to? Plus what would the attitude of players be if the club said we're now going to reduce your wages for underachievement or you're going to be sacked for non performance. The players would say, "Erm, I signed a contract and the terms of the contract say you have to do this". Well, follow your own advice then, you jumped up pampered little sh*tehawks.
