  1. Nice goal that.
  2. Legend.
  3. De Boer now having a little pop - headline makes it sound worse than his actual comment however. De Boer: Suarez can be stupid February 15, 2012 Ajax coach Frank de Boer has said Luis Suarez is capable of "some stupid things'' in the wake of his failure to shake hands with Patrice Evra. Suarez brought shame on Liverpool last weekend when he refused to shake Evra's hand ahead of the Premier League defeat at Manchester United. The South American was eventually forced into an apology after Reds managing director Ian Ayre said Suarez had misled the club about his intentions. It is the latest in a long line of disciplinary woes for Suarez, who only last season was banned for seven matches by the Dutch FA for biting PSV Eindhoven's Otman Bakkal while playing for Ajax. De Boer was assistant to Martin Jol at the time of the incident, in November 2010, but has since assumed full control at Ajax and sanctioned Suarez's £22.7 million departure for Liverpool in January last year. "Luis as a winner,'' said De Boer. "Outside the pitch he's a fantastic player and person. In the game he does everything to win but sometimes he does some stupid things. "I don't really know the details of what happened in that (Saturday's) game so I can't comment. But I don't think it was very smart that he didn't shake Evra's hand because it puts more attention on everything.'' http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1022317/liverpool%27s-luis-suarez-can-be-stupid,-says-ajax%27s-frank-de-boer?cc=5901
  4. Agggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........DeGea can't deal with the balls in............
  5. That really some finish from Gerrard there and Bellamy's first was as cool as they get. Not much time to think about it on the rebound and he slotted it perfectly. Full credit to Martin as well, that was an excellent clearance and extremely timely given the nature of the game at that point. Great 3 points and even better given some of the results from Saturday.
  6. In keeping with the spirit...........Clearly the FA need to have an instructional video they require teams to show players signed from abroad, something like this maybe? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xNApzUegikg
  7. He's sounds like such a knob.....
  8. On the front page of CNN.com now. http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/17/sport/soccer-word-controversy/index.html?hpt=hp_c2 Some interesting perspective and supporting of Luis and his claims.
  9. Rafa pulling a "Josemi" in that pic.
  10. Fickle is the word that comes to mind for anyone having a go at FSG in my mind. How anyone can place any of the blame on them for Torres wanting to jump ship is beyond me. It's early in their ownership and so far I feel they've done just about everything right. They'll learn from this and will do everything in their powers to ensure this doesn't happen again.
  11. My thoughts exactly, no player make-weights please. Straight cash and lots of it is the only way to even contemplate making this reality......would rather the lad stay and hope that the next few months and a good finish show Nando that things are on the up with the club. Really hope Suarez can bed in quickly and give Nando and the Club the extra push we so desperately need.
  12. This business has made me a bit "thick" so are you saying both Kenny and Nando had a go at Nando's agent? Or Nando had a go at Kenny's agent?....if Kenny even has one?????? If that's the case are saying Nando's agent has orchestrated all this to include the transfer request without Nando's permission? (clutching at straws)
  13. This. I have yet to see a statement directly from the man himself. Until I see this - no matter which direction he wants to go - I will look forward to the lad playing next week.
  14. That first line had me pissing me trousers.........
  15. While it's obvious the side needs some investing and we've all seen and heard what the Red Sox have done this offseason it's important to note that this group of owners is extremely forward thinking and will be in the process of, if not already far down the road with, putting a plan in place that will put this club in a position to be successful for years to come. The downside to the way they do things is that it can take some time but I think we should all rest assured that it will happen. What they've invested in the Red Sox recently has been planned for some time now (years and not months) and their GM Theo Epstein casually made a remark in the late 2009 during the offseason before 2010 season that the coming year would be a "bridge year" - this infuriated fans and gave the media who cover the team quite a bit of ammunition when covering the team. They made some frugal signings and actually had a decent season given the injuries they incurred throughout the year. Now this offseason they have gone out and signed two excellent players in their primes to big deals but only after having done their homework on them. They knew exactly what they wanted to do and they did it based on their efforts over the last year -year and a half in scouting these players but also by fiscally responsible and planning for their salaries they were taking on. I believe there will be investment during this coming transfer window if the signings make sense but more than likely bigger investment won't come until the summer. As far as getting rid of this clown we have as a "manager" I would think that unless this team really tanks it over the coming weeks/months we may not see a change until next year when there will be more unemployed managers with the quality to lead this club back to where it belongs. I'm sure this has all been said before but I felt it needed repeating if only to get it out of my head.
  16. I have morning wood in the PM. Great performance there, let's keep this run gooing lads. Nice to see some of the young lads get a run out and a solid game from young Kelly.
  17. This. Good to have him back.
  18. Roy's been talking Fernando up a bit lately, thought it was in efforts to raise his spirits but now I know he's speaking the truth. Too great goals from him and I don't see the sulking from him either. Good to see the lad back and firing them in. Lord knows he needed it and for that matter so did we.
  19. f*** me, get the f*** in...
  20. Lucas really incorporating the "Kaiser Crumple" into his game. Playing well for the last few weeks.
  21. Has it really already been 5 years? I thought he had come over in the January window in 2006-2007?
  22. Much, much more of this please. He and Gerrard really were on the same sheet of music for a bit there, too bad injuries have disrupted that. So very hopeful for a new beginning this season.....
  23. It's a sad day when a run of less than desirable results suddenly tarnishes a manager such as Rafa. He's done what he could with what he's had to work with. Please remember the injuries to our best players that he's had to deal with. Has he made some curious decision re: players purchases and tactics from time to time? Yes, depending on who you are and how you view the game you are certainly entitled to your opinion but please don't forget the factors (facts) that may influence what your viewing. This season has been heavily influenced by who has been out, there is no disputing that. Would we better off in the table had Torres, Gerrard, Johnson, Aquilani (debatable), Benayoun, Agger and Aurelio not been out injured and missed significant time? Surely anyone with half a brain would have to say yes to some extent. Rafa has clearly got the respect of the players, surely that should tell the doubters enough.
