Yes it admittedly tailed off, followed by a massive summer upheaval, and of course I agree he has struggled to make it work 4 months into this season But I think he has to get the season, and CL qualification and a good crack at it this season gets him next year too. If it doesn’t change and we limp in 7th or something then ok.

Did I say I was pleased? Far from it mate. But today was better. Not much and not enough, but it was better. We passed it quicker, we created more chances and we should have won the game. But obviously the problems we have are far from solved. Maybe a new man comes in and suddenly everything clicks because everything that is wrong is Slots fault. Maybe, maybe not. For me I don’t think it’s a gamble worth taking. Yet.

Ugh. So many fecking draws. Thought there were signs of improvement today, more incisive and created more chances, Wirtz really good. And then we just let it drop and got punished. After that we never really looked like scoring. The summer overhaul was badly thought through and it was never going to be a quick fix, and it is getting better, but it’s a very slow recovery. I get why some don’t have the patience, I’m as fed up as anyone but if we get into a cycle of changing the manager if things don’t go our way for 6 months…well you only have to look around for plenty of examples of where that leads.
