  1. Legend as a player, but whoever told him he was cut out for a career in TV has some serious questions to answer. Remember his own show?
  2. No wonder they're all bust. I havent watched this for a while - since when did Nancy Del'Oglio present it?
  3. Ian Walker now. The strange, and slightly disappointing thing, is that they are both really tastefully decorated.
  4. Just watching this on MTV, its absolutely incredible how such a no-mark footballer has earned so much money. Incredible place, 8-9 motors, all over the 100k mark, stunning wife. All really is not well in Football if a journeyman footballer can command this much cash.
  5. Putting Robert Huth up front in a CL semi final!
  6. That was not a good day at the office.
  7. Blaming Owen wasnt my agenda, I was merely pointing out that Eduardo contributed a lot more to his campaign than Owen did to his. Hence my preference for one over the other. The Eduardo quip was a bit of a cheap shot though.
  8. Travelling with the Croatia squad in Euro 2008.
  9. I think its no disgrace for someone to choose his adopted nation (moved to Croatia at 15/16), rather than wait in line for Brazil call ups. I think his scoring ratio since then speaks for itself. His goals and fitness are the reason Owen has a summer holiday booked, and Eduardo doesn't.
  10. I'd be intrigued to see him finally play for a big club - so much unfulfilled potential there. Wierd how him, Hofland and van Bommell never really kicked on to where they should have done. I assume you meant Van der Vaart, right?
  11. Clichy was like that for 2 years, couldnt break wind without straining something. Gerrard was too iirc? Hopefully his luck will change for next year.
  12. I was right behind it. Priceless it was. He looked like he was going to cry. Lauren just did his 'I dont give a f***' cold stare at him. Beautiful.
  13. The consolation with his record though, is that they all seem to be completely unrelated injuries. Last year was a metatarsal, earlier this season was knee ligaments following a nasty tackle, then a thigh injury. The first 2 could happen to anyone, unlike Rosicky, who sees doomed by his hamstrings.
  14. Yes, 8 goal injury prone Owen represents much better value than the 4 goal, first season in England Eduardo. Had he not got injured as he did, he could have closed double figues, despite harldy starting in the 1st 6 months.
  15. To be honest, I wouldnt take him over any of our top 3. RVP, if he could just not get injured, has the potential to be one of the very best around.
  16. I cant see him scaling the heights he used to though. I think we will be a solid poacher, but not one of the best anymore.
  17. If he hadnt played for us already, I think he would be worth a gamble of 5-6 million tops. The problem is that so much of what he was good at involved pace, and the ability to do great things at incredible pace. His age, allied to his injury record in the past 18 months will surely erode his greatest asset. That said, he's easily good enough to adapt his game to allow for that, like Shearer did, like Owen seemingly cannot.
  18. I'd say to bank between 25 and 30 million for the 2 of them was good business anyway, when you look at their appearance records since then, I think it made perfect sense. Selling Overmars allowed us to get Pires, a vastly superior player.
  19. I strongly suspect that his physiological issues more than anything to do with attitude, were the reason the boss was happy to let hin leave, like Vieira, Ljungberg, Overmars, Jeffers before him. Oh wait, Jeffers was just s***.
  20. Good to see his punditry talents match those he displayed on the pitch. Complete and utter no-mark. A worldly no-mark if yo will
  21. Personally, I dont really care who wins, but Chelsea dropping points makes it possible for us to finish second and avoid CL qualification, so I'm rooting for them at the moment.
  22. Get in there!!!!!!1
  23. and why were they making such a big song and dance about it? They played CL on Tuesday, then monday, then thursday, then not again until you play them. Not unreasonable by any stretch?
