The thing that s***s me is that the team regresses to route one football as soon as he's on the pitch. He comes on against bolton and straight away carra launches an aimless punt at him. It's funny how people describe Dirk and Suarez as "mobile" forwards, suarez obviously is, but it's hard for me to see that Dirk is substantially more mobile than carroll. While he's not executing everything correctly, he does have a lot of skill, a good passing range and a good ability to read the game. What I saw last night was someone thinking about the tempo of the game and using the ball to control it. This is not to compare him to a certain spanish dreamboat, they are very different players, but I do like what I've seen of him. He is also good at keeping the ball even when playing at a fast tempo. This is a real rarity for an english player. I assumed he was bought to play on the right, but he's got so much to his game that I'm sure he'll end up in the middle.
