The one game I’d have willingly missed every season was the Burnley game, now we have all the fun of the Burnley game mixed in with the usual bile from those over the park. Let’s just get the points with no injuries or suspensions. -
So the disciplinary hearing has started ‘in secret’ this week with the Everton board quietly confident. I’d say that whatever punishment is given it will be a suspended one so not really a punishment at all. No way the PL has the balls to punish them properly, as they’d have to then go much harder on city when they eventually escape punishment too.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2023/10/14/rishi-sunak-sanction-hamas-leaders-luxury/ Rishi Sunak is facing calls to impose sanctions on Qatar for continuing to host the Hamas leaders who directed the attack on Israel. Mark Wallace, a former US ambassador to the UN, said that “much of the Qatari wealth is sitting in London” and called for assets linked to the Qatari state and royal family to be frozen “until the Qataris turn over the worst of the worst terror leaders in the world”. Hopefully this ends any link completely. -
Klopp gets stick but last season After the incident, the PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) released a statement saying that Arsenal were contacted "to acknowledge and explain the significant errors in the VAR process", and that the incident was "due to human error and related to the analysis of offside situations, [which] are being thoroughly reviewed by PGMOL.” Despite the admittance of the error, Arteta showed his frustration in his pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal's seismic top-of-the-table match against Manchester City on Wednesday night. "We ended the game with huge anger because that wasn't a human error. That was a big not understanding your job, and that's not acceptable. I'm sorry. That costs Arsenal two points." When asked whether he was satisfied with the PGMOL's apology, Arteta made it clear that an expression of regret, in his eyes, was not enough: "I will only be satisfied [with the apology] if they give me the two points back, which is not going to be the case."

Us getting screwed over is the best PR that VAR has ever had, chants of **** var forgotten because scousers lost points. d****eads.

Without var that Diaz offside is accepted as an error, they happen and seeing the foot was probably a little beyond the ability of a Lino in real time. With var it’s a howler, from a man who seems to only make big offside howlers against us (Sake & Rashford offside errors) That a video assistant then had to point it out and he still wouldn’t give the on field referee the information it’s enough to remove him from games at this level, he isn’t fit to do the job. Continued errors don’t lead Webb to decide that this official isn’t competent at this level because they care more about covering each other than the integrity of the game. Taking England off our games doesn’t solve the problem unless you believe he has a bias against us. Webb is the problem, Riley before. The refs mike should be live at all times, it would weed out the poor refs and probably lead to better behaviour from the players. Bring in the semi automatic offside immediately as it seems to be doing a decent job in the champions league. I’d trust a computer (even a spectrum) more than I’d trust these idiots.
-
But VAR was brought in to improve these decisions and avoid mistakes. So what he’s saying is we should scrap VAR because it is s***. Webb is a c***.

Ball boys will be breathing a collective sigh of relief, the sh8thouse -
No matter where he’s gone, I agree we aren’t missing him in any capacity. Players get older, slower and move on.

I think he is entitled to his opinion (Keegan). I don’t believe the opinions of women are more valid than anyone that’s played football, they don’t play in front of huge crowds either. But then I’d also push out pundits after say every 5 years and get some more recent ex players in who might have actually played against some of the current players or worked under the current managers. I can’t comment on how good or bad they are because I don’t watch or listen to any pundits before or after games. I’m usually at half the games and if we’re away I only watch the actual game. Anyone is better than Paul Merson so there is that. -

Might it be more of a ‘who are you?’ Just some tech basically, how dare you speak to me. Could be taken aback that he’s had the temerity to mention it. You’d think though that after five years that they’d have a decent rapport with the techs. The ‘can’t do anything’ isn’t his call though, it’s the referees call to make and in my opinion he should have told the ref straight away and let him decide. That Webb is backing him after his previous mistakes says everything about the standards they have, or rather don’t have. Webb brought his police cover our asses at the expense of everything else with him, until he’s gone it won’t and can’t improve. -

from the released audio of a Newcastle game, The final sentence uttered by the VAR is "Craig, the lines have come out as onside, so I'm going to recommend you award the goal, the recommendation is you award the goal". -
