He a great little left sided player - I say little as I definitely remember thinking he seemed short, and would not hack it physically in the Prem. That said he's very skilful, and is one of those guys who is younger than he looks - I think he's only 21 or so even now. Not sure he's what we want/need.

After seeing that 'Digger' might be off to Tranmere, and then today I got one of those LFC Info newsletters which linked to this free video of the maestro himself...(well worth watching) it made me think... How much would he be worth in today's market? Not forgetting of course good too Aldridge, Rush and Co must have loved playing with him. Alright I'm getting carried away, but you get the point!!!

This suggests Dossena on his way. Nice lad, but didn't really see him fitting in, and would be 3rd choice for me behind Fabio & Insua. Also read this on Pandev. He's one I'd like. Basically the best Macedonian player, a lefty which is good for balance, and can play up front or midfield. Contract ends 2010 so we might strike a deal. I think we were linked to him last year or the year before? And he's still only 26.

If they do go, it won't be a great loss. They're 2nd rate, with 3rd rate 'experts' and pretty nationalistic on some sports (e.g. Rugby where they hate England). Altho - I would miss Special One TV.

So Rafa has been quoted all over as saying we'll only be after a couple of new players. Unless this is smoke and mirrors (which it could be to throw others off the scent) interested to see where the two would be (positionally). Seems like for all the main guys we've been linked to (big names etc) like Villa, Silva, Tevez, Barry (not that he was a big name) we'll be outbid by either Madrid, Citeh or Chelski. So if it's only 2 - I think we need players who can play more than one position well. 1/ A backup striker/wide guy combination at a minimum. 2/ Central defender able to play full back (or vice versa) as a second. For other positions seems likely we'll have to stay put - RB hope we keep Arbeloa, LB work with what we've got, Midfield hang on to Alonso, Masch & even Lucas, LW hang on to Riera & Babel. Or have I been taken in by Rafa's guile?

Just saw this on the Beeb.... "Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has had offers of £10, Oasis tickets and a Curly Wurly after inviting offers for the Tyneside outfit by e-mail. The Magpies have been given a £100m price tag. " Personally I think the Curly Wurly is a very good offer

Unlike any other FA Cup - it seems a total non-event. Especially after the CL this week. Chelsea will tank them I think. Is there a way they can both lose?

Yeah I did - mentioned it in the match thread at the time. Terrible body check and not unlike a few others that he's done this year. I still remember Bellamy being the first to really skin him.

Re: Javi Martinez....deserves this clip being brought out again

That's just mental, over a game of footy and as far afield as Nigeria for God's sake. RIP.

Imagine this might put any (Glen) Johnson deal in question > Portsmouth agree to takeover bid Not hard up any more.

GET THE F*CK IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Was still nervous right until the last seconds!

what the f&ck was that from Vidic? Looked like a body check....

Did Evra even show up? Or Giggs? Or Rooney? Or Anderson.....

He's not learned with age it seems. Look awful in slow mmo...

SHOOT Messi!!! Remember Fabio....

Great headed goal from the shortest player on the pitch - the only Barca player in the box!! Messi is boss!! Great ball from Xavi too. Fingers crossed now......

Is it me or is this the quickest 43 mins ever? Flying past considering not much happening now.

Oops sorry - wishful thinking I guess. Meant Corner....

United only had 3 men in the box for that corner??? Ronaldo is their one man up top?? I'm confused.... What would the press be saying if a Rafa team had this selection and play?

Seems likely - from the latest Gill interview (he's pretty straight forward, and seems much less press trained) he said it's 25.5M quid, and they have until June 30 to make their decision. Fully expect them to drag it out until then.... In which case, I hope we are not making Tevez #1 option now as Utd seem to retain the option on him. Personally I'd love us to bring in 1 or 2 top class guys. The squad quality is pretty good right now, and a couple of stars would make us huge....here's hoping!

Vidic is a donkey. For some bizarre reason it made me think of Anne Robinson - 'you are the weakest link....goodbye'. I'll get me coat.

That was men against boys physically. Dalla Valle stood out for me, hardly ever gave the ball away, deceptively fast, and great finish. Ince, Amoo, Kacaniklic all looked promising. Defence looked very suspect, but mainly against the pace. Was quite surprised how much the defence played long balls cutting out the midfield for a young LFC team.

So who is this year's SoTM? (Summariser of the Month) Tough to keep up with all the players/left wingers we have been linked to....... Oh yeah and Tuncay anyone? Not seen many Boro games (for good reason) for some time, but he's the skipper of his country, and Rafa likes skippers

Not quite sure what I think of this.... Pro- we could get shot of Babel and get Barry (who has been a long term target) in one hit. Con - can't see Villa wanting to make us any kind of deal, so likely a useless drawn out press negotiation (again). I think it's more likely bad journalism - 1+1 = 11! Although Villa with Young and Babel either side (and swapping) could be a frightening prospect.
