You have to wonder when players say they hate being rested any they want to play every game they are available for. I can understand their point but had LFC played him every game last season and left him for the whole 90 mins, then he got injured in the last few games and missed the World Cup what would his attitude be then? He may not say it but would you put it past him to be brooding about having being burnt out by his employer?
-
Me too but his composure on the ball would help us keep possesion, and stop the defence just booting it over midfield. Plus Drogba gave Sami such a hard time in the 4-1 last season.
-
Crouch and Bellamy then Elisha? Think I would be tempted to play Agger instead of Sami, after the 4-1 last year with Drogba giving him such a hard time. I would play Agger instead of Sami as well.

Toby, try reading Paul Klebnikov's book godfather of the kremlin and see if you still feel the sale of Sibneft by the Russian goverment was beneficial to ordinary Russian people. Legally such fortunes as those made by "the Oligarch's" could never have been made in this country and if anyone ever tried you could be sure that a lot of people would be facing a lot of jail time. It astounds me these people are allowed to then live in this country, almost tax free as well. They exploited the fact that Boris Yeltsin was mostly too sick or too drunk to govern properly and Klebnikov goes on to accuse Abramovich of using government funds to run a slush fund on behalf of the Yeltsin family. Someone was so upset with Klebnikov they shot him 4 times killing him in 2004 close to Red Square. I don't wish to insult you Toby, but it is a naive to suggest that the shares for loans sell off in the USSR was beneficail to the ordinary citizens. Even the argument used to support the concentration of so much capital in the hands of so few individuals, that they through their wealth would provide a trickle down effect through the economy as they spend their wealth holds little sway when so much of that cash is spent on a football team in London. As for the assertion that he sold Sibneft back to the state for 20% less than its market value you fail to mention the fact that price was hundreds of times more than he paid for it or the billions he was paid in dividends while the majority shareholder. -
Picture 28 would be of been me right in the middle but my friend was late and we missed the first 5 mins, so I guess the picture was taken then.

FIFA the definition of corruption.
Miracle@Istanbul replied to Miracle@Istanbul's topic in General Football Discussion
Its ridiculous for the fans who's cash runs the game yet have no say in how it runs, the ticketing situation for just about any big football match just highlights this. England fans are currently paying over £1000 for world cup tickets issued to corporate clients and Trinidad and Tabago were issued more tickets than England for their game, its just stupid. -
I had to laugh the other day when one of the African FIFA delegates got sent home in disgrace for selling tickets for England's game against Trinidad and Tobago and then Sepp Blatter interviewed saying he will not stand for corruption in the FIFA organisation. After the Panorama expose last week, I guess Blatter thinks he has to be seen to be doing something about how bent the organisation looks but they are going to need to a lot more than banish one rougue delagate. Working in FIFA must be one of the best jobs in the world travelling the world on an expense account watching football trying not to be influenced as to which country you will grant the next world cup to.

That kind of sums up my frustrations with the supposed FA allocation. the refs do a great job in amateur footie often getting dogs abuse for little money and reward and deserve their tickets, but most of them sell their tickets on or pass them to friends so it is more the cash perk they are interested in than actually going to the game. Real fans are denied more tickets, no offence to you superjay but you can't guarantee to me every ref who sells a ticket will pass it to a real fan.
-
For me it is about time the ticket allocations for cup final's was looked at, I know its the same for almost any big sporting event, that the real supporters who follow week in week out struggle to get tickets while all the freeloaders and people in the know get their's for free. I bet if you worked for the BBC, the houses of parliament or a brothel near the FA headquaters in soho you would most likley be offered plenty of tickets for a cup final and the touts always have plenty of tickets stamped cornish FA. The fans of the teams who make the final have had their allocations cut because the cup final attendance is not 100,000 anymore, have the FA cut the allocations to the county assosiations and corporate sources? I do agree the people who run the county assosiations deserve to be rewarded for their efforts but why can't they be rewarded with tickets to international fixtures most of which have greater significance than they used to. Anyway it's only the big clubs that can do anything about this because the FA don't listen to anyone but the big clubs have the clout to put the pressure on.

Good Luck to all those still waiting, im sure that tickets were held back after the robbery which has increased the panic for those waiting.

Everton v Liverpool, 5-0, November 1982
Miracle@Istanbul replied to Elisha_Scott's topic in Liverpool FC
I used to have this game on VHS video until a break in at the old house and a load of classic games got stolen along with the video recorder amongst other items. Anny Road if you are getting a copy for Elisha is it possible to get me a copy as well. I have recorded all the recent stuff shown on ESPN classic which includes a 3-2 victory over Everton with Barnes, Beardsley and Rush scoring but would love that 5-0. If anyone wants copies of the ESPN stuff email me, address in profile.
