I don't think I can form an opinion on these players until I have seen some stats
-
There was a point in time when Rafa pretty much stated that Momo was first on the team sheet, oh how things have changed in recent times. If the choice was between Mascherano and Sissoko then I would choose Mascherano as he is a better option, but I think we'd only get 2 or 3 mil more on top of what we paid for Momo in January. I personally think January is a silly time to sell players that form a valuable part of the squad - the same goes for Crouch really. Any business like that should be left until the summer.

Bloody hell Kaizer, my job involves analysing stats and I even I find your stats related posts boring and tedious! It reminds me of when Sky Sports News were talking about teams being in the "drop zone" after 1 game - like Sky, you are drawing a conclusion and framing errors to support you personal point of view/agenda. A good quote that I think applies in this situation is "Statistics are like bikinis: they show a lot but not everything". This a liverpool forum where we can all state our own opinions, which is great. I personally believe Crouch is a better player, maybe not 'Liverpool' quality in the long run. But I would rather have him in the team. But please don't try and come out with stats comparing how many goals Bent has scored in 3rd round fixtures of the FA Cup or whatevever as compared to Crouch to prove that Bent is a better player, as it just makes you look stupid. We all have our own eyes and can make our own opinions from watching real football, not analysing numbers. If you are too busy with your calculator, maybe you could give up your seat at the ground so another fan can actually enjoy watching the match? If you do really want to build a statistical model to measure who is the better player between crouch and bent you might want to factor in whether the game was home or away, the standard of opposition being played, the overall result, the importance of the game, how many minutes they were on the pitch, how many goals they assisted etc. You might want to speak to the guys in Manchester Uni's statistics department as I am sure they could help you with your research.

My dog (a labrador) has a ginger tone to his coat... I'm absolutely buggered!

Not sure if it was riise's or not, but it was a nice house anyway. I presume ginger hair is just like dog hair in that it is almost impossible to completely rid from carpets so I can understand the need to reduce the price slightly.

I believe the house at that address is going for £1million on Rightmove...

Aye, he is responsible for his own family and his own decisions. Some of the stuff being written on RAWK is short of disgraceful in my opinion. As a general rule of thumb if you aren't man enough to say the same thing to someones face then don't act like a keyboard warrior and give people crap behind the safety of an internet message board.

Heinze set to buy out united contract....
LeeRadford replied to Brutus the barber's topic in General Football Discussion
Aye spose you are right, if Real Madrid were desperate to get him in, an offer of £1.2m above his buy out clause would be just too damn good for Man U to turn down thus not allowing anyone else time to negotiate or come in with a counter offer. -

The fee quoted on BBC Sport seems to be £8m! Now what I can't understand is why a player who everyone knows has a £6.8m (or 6.8m euro according to Man U) buy out clause, where his position is clearly untenable at his current club, ends up going for more money? Surely Man U would want to shift him as quickly as possible, hence pushing his true market value downwards?! -

Speculation like this is more like it! If it is made up, then at least they went to a lot more effort than the usual story of "My mate saw Henry, driving Formby in a Renault Clio, looking at houses and asking the locals what was the French for Va-Va-Voom"!

I don't think there is an anti-LFC agenda to be fair, probably more indicative of our being out of the title race effectively, and us being a quite useful team to put on near the end to try and retain viewing figures. However the one thing that has annoyed me on MOTD is where they show our highlights, then show a game straight after ours. After the two matches we don't even get a mention, and they then spend a couple of minutes chatting about the other game. This especially seems to be true if it has been a home win, almost as if unless something really interesting happened then there's nothing more to add. Lineker: Another solid win at Anfield for Liverpool. Hansen: Aye, what more can you say? Lineker: Hmmm. Next up we have the thrilling nil nil draw between Portsmouth and Aston Villa... etc

I never went to Litherland High so never met the teacher who it was, although a lot of my mates did and said the teacher is really sound. My friend is called Nicola and she works in the school office, but I don't think she has worked there that long.

Same horse, different jockey...

I got told the same story yesterday by a friend who works in Litherland High. The teacher is meant to be a really nice old woman and she was just taking the dog for a walk by formby key park as she does every day - and there was no need at all for what the two lads tried to do. Not sure where carra lives (like it really matters), but it was deffo him who helped the old lady and called the police for her.

Man United and Everton in trouble
LeeRadford replied to Maldini 's topic in General Football Discussion
Isn't this just all a non-story as Tim Howard was still on loan at the time? The premier league say they don't like terms such as not allowing players to play against ex-clubs in permanent transfers, which would apply next season. But for the rest of this season he is still on loan, therefore the agreement of not allowing him to play against his ex-club still applies? Or with sunday tabloids, is it a case of "why let the facts get in the way of a good story?"... -
You gotta love this (from the same site): I really do hope that is meant to be a joke

Downers on the night/ref deserved his own thread
LeeRadford replied to Sir Tokyo Sexwale 's topic in Liverpool FC
I completely agree, I spent the whole game waiting for a p*ss poor decision to ultimately ruin things for us. At the slightest fall the ref gave a barca free kick, I think I even remember he gave barca a free kick when it was Gerrard who was fouled! The worst example though was when he decided to give Agger a yellow card after the barca players were having a go. Although, by the sounds of it Mike Riley had a worse time in Roma! I believe he is now in the guiness book of world records for the most yellow cards or something!
