  7. Has been mentioned before but Voronin could just be a Zenden replacement. We do need more than one striker with enough pace to play on the shoulder. Bellamy has intermittently been one of our best players, just hasn't built up any momentum for whatever reason.
  8. The big difference is that Mascherano is effective when playing much deeper, so that (in a pairing) Alonso can be much further up the pitch, and able to spark things. Sissoko is not at this point offensively good enough for where he needs to play. I think he has much more of a place in a five man midfield than in a 442.

  10. Must be Gerrard on the right and one of the CBs in central midfield. Hopefully Agger.

Wait until the stadium is filled with 45 000 fans before making a decision either way? That'd be a touch crazy.

  18. googling 'storm over anfield' gives this forum: http://forum.sportenter.co.il/index.php?bo...y;threadid=2709 which has a broken link here: http://www.propaganda-photo.com/photoshop/...mages/storm.jpg That company doesn't have it on their current website, but they might be able to get access. An individual print would be expensive though, something like £50/70 .

    Guardian article

Well if he's going to say it at least he says it regardless of the recent form. That's better than kicking us when we're down. Good point on injuries, but then there're plenty here on about how Rafa's a genius for rotating (or that's implied anyway) regardless of those injuries. Obviously the rhetoric is fairly idiotic, and added mainly to spice the whole thing up, but the central idea- that gratuitous rotation isn't a good thing- seems to be the opinion of most on here. The thing is imo people wrongly attack the whole thing and all it's (banal) ideas when they've just got pissed off with the guy's tone.

    Guardian article

Can't be bothered reading all of the replies to that piece, but he does have a point imo. Our excellent run last season came after Rafa relied almost exclusively on the same structure, if not always on the exact same players. How many times did we play Reina Finnan Carragher Hyypia Riise Gerrard Alonso Sissoko Kewell <?> Crouch? And how many times did we win? Equally our last two results have come with a more settled team than before, and more experience playing together. How can people say on one hand our new players haven't settled into the team, and blame this for a stuttering start, and on the other vitriolically slate this article? It's clear that constantly rotating damages team cohesion, at least with new players.
