We have loads of players to sell or free some of that wage bill.... Cole, Downing, Adam, Spearing, Bellamy, Brad Jones and if we really must Carroll, plus we already sold/released off the wage bill, Kuyt, Maxi and Aurelio and looks like aqua is on his way. Problem is to sell them at a respectable fee.
-
If allen is signed, i think two of adam, aquilani and spearing are gone

Allen is to Rodgers as Xabi was to Rafa. Allen from the times i watched him play is an all-rounder midfielder - tidy in possession, tactically astute, has great work-rate, intelligent off the ball, wins many balls in midfield. basically he s a poor man's xavi (which is quite a compliment at his age) We do not really have a player in his mould. Jonjo for all his potential, lacks maturity to cement a place in first 11.

Relax guys. It s only pre season. These matches r only serve to get ur pre season fitness and tactical awareness back. I stopped judging individuals in pre season since i saw cheyrou vs lazio, who from that match seemed like we have signed zidane s clone. However from what i ve seen of suso at under 19, hope he will he involved with the first team. He should make it and is almost two yrs older than sterling.

We just need to buy Gaston Ramires, Jovetic, Affelay and M'Villa We simply just need to sell Cole, Downing, Maxi, Spearing, Adam/lAquilani The above is playsation like but a trio of Affellay Jovetic and Ramires would do wonders in terms of increasing creativity to our attacks. In reality i dont think we will see that many additions at Anfield this season. I think Rodgers is secretly banking on the likes of Henderson, Shelvey, Suso and Sterling. We would still need to sign ONE very good player which may well be Ramires. Suso in the under 19 championship is easily Spain's best player. He seems the next Iniesta. However like Sterling due to his age he cannot be slotted straight into the first 11 week in week out. Shelvey and Hendo may hopefully progress to fulfill their potential this season. Spearing needs tobe sold and either Adam or Aquilani would be a waste of space. Think the Sturridge stuff is just bulls.

this thread is littered with news i dont want to hear. Our midfiled is also littered with useless players on high wages...most notably Joe Cole

lol. this at least made me laugh. on Siggy, way i see it, if we cant compete with spurs in terms of pulling power and on the financial plane we r in deep s***. if spurs are offering ridiculous amounts and rodgers feels siggy is not worth that money, siggy can f*** off to the spuds.

I think another long-term project has just left the dock....Another 5 year plan is on the cards. On the other hand we cant compete if we are constantly void of CL money foooty -

IThis choice is a big risk and owners are either very naive or stupid or a bunch of shrewd geniuses. I admire em of having just the balls to appont such a young inexperienced manager after sacking the KING himself and ignoring the manager who won our last CL, and admire rodgers for having the balls to accept such a red hot seat with could potentially ruin his career. However I AM choosing to believe that FSG have re-incarnated the modern version of Shanks! Good luck Gaffer Rodgers! I am sure that you will have the 100% backing of our fans! YNWA! Those before you never have and you won't either... -
Looks a bit like Fat Sam!
-
he isnt the only one but with the candidates we have at present, i think he should be our first on the list for the reasons mentioned. if it was pep guardiola instead of brendan rodgers / martinez then we may begin to argue....but at present no argument whatsoever
-
He will not come back because FSG could simply choose someone like rodgers instead of him. Rafa wants and has been waiting to come back ever since the day he left. Now a young manager which seems believes in the same rafa's philosophy.....it doesnt make sense. i'd choose a proven, original, signed shirt over apossible, what seems to be an original signed shirt every day of the week.

"For me it is quite logical. It doesn’t matter how big or small you are, if you don’t have the ball you can’t score.” The above quote from rodgers is rafaesque... why do we need a manager who is rafaesque, if we can have RAFA himself?? Bring back Rafa, a proven manager, has learnt from the little mistakes he committed along the way and completly understands and knows how to take LIverpool Footbal Club forward. We need a Rafa homecoming, not a nobody like rodgers who will never be able to attract foreign big names... perhaps we dont need them anyway but; IN RAFA WE TRUST.......IN RODGERS??????????????????

I ve decided Rafa should be named our manager. This season it is of paramount importance that we ll hit the ground running. A new manager will have to come in, assess the players, panic buy late in the transfer window etc. Rafa is a terrific manager, loves LFC, KNOWS what needs to be done, how to get it done. Feck me he s been re-thinking what went wrong these last years. FSG just let him get on with it!
-
Chelsea looks like they' ll be spending all their prize monies... Mancs will also spending big this summer, having spent nowt last year and lost the winners' titles. City....they are able to spend as much as mancin's wishes. We have a lot of catching up... but it does not necessarily mean that spending big is always the right and only way for success.

MO,after being given the boot up his snidy back-side- "I have loved every minute of the 3 years i have spent at such a fantastic club." He should be erased from our history books.
-
This will surely bring tears to your eyes. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/kenny-and-lfc-in-25-photos Great Post! My sentiments exactly!

If i were FSG i would seriously consider Joachim Low as our next manager.

Rafa was never backed financially. He made wonders with the limited amount of budget available to him. He had G&H as owners of the club, when time was ripe to make the next step. He had to sell players to buy Torres. He missed out on a number of targets beacuse of financial problems, most notably ALVES. During his reign we had one of the best central midfields in the club's history. Xabi, Masch, Gerrard (Lucas and Sissoko back-ups)

Gutted! How the f*** can Liverpool fc, sack Kenny Dalglish ever???!!! FSG are proving to be ruthless feckers. next manager is going to simply have to do everything right, or knives will be out!! Thanks Kenny. Gutted it ended this way.
-
Suarez (the spark on the attacking front) Henderson (Great Work-rate, quality passes, intelligent runs from midfield) Skretl (The Rock at the heart of the defence)
-
Buy Falcao (Atletico Madrid), Ilner (Napoli), Right wing and Left wing Sell/Release Spearing Maxi Kuyt Aurelio Downing
-
What about try to sign him back on the cheap, in order to offer to atletcio madrid in exchange for falcao! falcao was immense last night!
-
what a wretched season! Posts, astonishing keeper saves, suarez 8 match ban, signings who didnt come good. wee difficult home - coming for king kenny.
