  1. Agreed. Stevie s still a good player but his engine is slowing down. he no longer is able to maruad the pitch like he used to. one of the very best to have graced the liverbird.
  2. carroll was immense. he s a great player to build a team more siuted to his abilities
  3. Kenny put carroll on the 57th minute. it was early in the game, but we were already 2-0 down. The ramires goal was a fluke which oozed energies and baffled the players. we basically bottled it for the first 60 mins.
  4. Wish we had signed napoli s ILNER. we were touted to be in for him., before napoli signed him. He style of play reminds me a lot of Xabi Alonso...c' mon scouts...get one right! He wont go on the cheap though
  5. Me too and crouch despite his height is s*** at heading. crouch is good with his feet but he s slow. carroll is a different striker. his main attributes are (supposed) his strength and headers and his thunderbolt of a shot.Carroll is a very poor man's LLorente. But perhaps for the deluded there is a slight ray of hope that he may develop into something like the atletico madrid superstar.
  6. I tend to agree with aurelio 's heel. However we tried a somewhat similar formation ve newcastle recently and we lost 2-0, but game was ruined by Pepe' s sending off.

    Kenny

Kenny speaks: "The performance, from 20 minutes before the interval to the end of the game, I thought they were excellent," he said after the game. "They showed a great deal of determination and commitment and didn't want to lose the game. They pushed forward and kept plugging away and at the end of the day we could feel a little hard done by.We were delighted with the players. "I don't think there may have been a penalty. I think when the referee describes his reason for not giving it I think the player who committed it was unlucky. So we're up against it there aren't we? "If you hit the post it doesn't count as on target. Even the goal we scored came off the post and Luis headed it in. Agger had a great header that hit the post, Bellamy hit the post. We'll just keep going, we'll get closer." and for one , I agree with him. Top post!

All im saying is that given his past achievments, we all witnessed, it is early and disrespectful to call for kenny s head, also in the light of how many points we undeservedly lost during the first part of the season.

Two decades ago he was a brilliant manager, and now he s turned s****? and dont give me the bulls*** that he s been out of the game for a long time. he followed and was involved in the club all the time. he knows what needs to be done, and given time he will do it. class is permanent!

Be f***ing patient . Kenny 's been in the job for a little over a year. He s had an unlucky season. he made some mistakes. he will correct them. he s a brilliant manager as we all know and we should not doubt his managerial abilities. let him get on with the job for at least another season, eh?!

We looked very stretched today especially in the first half. Our back four played too deep and midfiled was disjointed from attack. Nevertheless we were the better side of the teams. We just miss too many chances and conceded at every opposing shot on target. As usual luck was not our side. We hit a couple of posts, ball twice cleared off their goal line..and the ref missed a couple of genuine penalties. This is one hell of a wretched season. I cant remmember a season like this ever and hope not to ever experience one again. For all you s*** spouters in here. Kenny has to be given a chance until June 2013! He has earned the right with his past achievemnets. Granted he made some mistakes in this wreteched season, but kenny has unfinished business with us, allow him to finish it!

It may sound rhetoric but how many opposing GK s strolled off with the man of the match award against us thi season? I invite you to watch again the last 10mins of every match at anfield this season...Every miracle in the book was performed to keep the ball out of the net. Vorm and teh Swansea defence spring to mind. How many posts were hit? We also played some fantastic flowing football, aginst the a*** at home and countless of others games. Many of our first teamers are in their rookie season at anfield. Arsenal are not better than us. They just had a good run and built on it a run which should have been ours cos they never should have emereged with 3 points from anfield. We just didnt have that tiny something (perhaps luckI to string a good run. I firmly believe that winning 3 games on the trot gels, gives confidence to everyone in the team. That winning mentality goes on to give you more wins and more points. The mentality the mancs have. The mancs greater asset is their mentality. Their squad is not of the best but their mentality is and they grind out results and wins because of it. Look at how amny games they managed to scrape a 1-0 win.... Fine line between success and failure....

Except for the obvious I would go with the same formation vs newcastle....only changes johnson/kelly for flanno, coates for carra, downing for bellers, and stick a couple of subs on the bench.

I think this season is simply damned for us. Cant find any other explanations. Yesterday we crossed, passed numerous balls from behind their left-back into the six yard box. Usually these result either in a clear-cut chance or a goal, but they often came to nothing. Can t remmember newcastle doing it once during the whole match. Our build-up play was quite good. We hit the post again. We had a clear pen not given. (the handsball) It s not easy for the lads to be playing well, creating chances and then suddenly you find yourself a goal down. Their first goal was a hopeful cross from the middle of the pitch, which was skretl or reina' s fault as perhaps reina could have come out for it. I t should have been easily dealt with. Thier second was an offiside. Players have every reason to get frustrated during the match which what happened yesterday. I still think that our position in the league table this season is a big fat lie. we are and have played much better than our league standing. i still think that a*** are not better than us, that our season has gone completly wrong, that should luck have been on our side we would have been able to create some momentum beacuse lucky wins bring more wins, they gel the team, boost their confidence, mentalities and everything would have clicked into place. Perhaps I am deluded but there is a very fine lien between success and failure and our luck this season just happened to be on the wrong side of it. I can feel the disappointment and frustration of the lads and feel sorry for them and our own King Kenny. YNWA!

    The Bitters

Still pist off abt the a*** game. They reached spurs and we r alongside the bitters!
  19. The obvious disadvantage of finishing below fourth is being without CL footy, the money and status ity gives the club and the pulling power it gives in the transfer market. I do not think we will finish fourth this year after the a*** loss, which will mean that we will struggle this summer to secure world class players. We can forget luring the hazards etc out there. The optimist in me is trying to reassure me that it will be a blessing in disguise, because many of our promising wee-uns will have to be given a chance next year and many will make the grade. Suso, Sterling, Shelvey, Texieria, wisdom, coady... wishful thinking but the best i can hope for.

In terms of quality, i agree there s not much. Question is why dont we have the balls to find a system which involves more good quality, attacking players, rather than worry too much about playing kuyt to stop bale, spearing and henderson to halt modric etc. i think we are overdoing it a bit defensively.

    Spurs Home

On avreage I think most of the other Top 5 teams field much more offensive players than us.... Perhaps that s why we have te best defensive line and the poorest goal scoring return.
