with alonso & marscherano playing together, we dont have offensive, impact, bombing player coming from the middle . both when we are on attack mode, were far behind, arriving late ( alonso because of pace) , marsch - (he s holding midfielder, covering our defense) this combination - as a result we dont have - iniesta/scholes/lampard/fabregas/gerrard type player in the middle. babel fabregas alves marsch - imagine if we got these player. fecking destroyer!

i ll play lucas & marsch in the centre. marsch sit back more lucas going forward & dictate our game more. from the middle. clear. alonso/marsch combination seem they both want to sit back. or they confusing each other role? it s about us to be offensive in that game.

yeah on the plus side, we going to play high tempo. nothing to loose/ not too much thinking about defensive type -overcautious s***e. go at em. crush them . in the 15min torres score. then in 78min gerrard put us 2-0. game feckin over.

we should play high tempo game presurised them like madmen for the 1st min. but we didnt do that. even we know we could. too much respect & over cautious/ afraid making mistake/miss pass maybe. we play lot better against inter & them before this.

alonso was good. man of the match for me is kuyt. his ball control almost perfect tonight. work tirelessly. back to alonso: for me, there seem we play with 2 holding midfielder last night. our build from back really slow. sometime alonso will collect the ball and spray 40 yard long ball to many to either flanks. we lack movement, fluidity, in the middle. we dont have a CM who can carry the ball offensively -(fabregas/iniesta/xavi/sneidjer) -gerrard played as a second striker not link man/hole player ala zidane. marscherano are covering back four. alonso should play further up field to support our strikers. there was massive gap between gerrard & our CM. but alonso doesnt have pace. mobility. he cant play there. i d rather pick lucas in the next game because he offer us more dynamic, pace, mobitily movement going forward. that s is they key going forward. support the attack more rather than think too much about covering our back four because we have marsch there. our performance first half were really poor apart from kuyt heroic goal.

he s good player. but i wonder can he sometimes runs with ball forward a bit, through the centre. like xavi/iniesta/fabregas do? we got alonso/masch who cover the back four. he should develope the offensive side of his game.

two reason: they got plenty of players who can ran with the ball with pace & trickery. even old dogs like giggs looked dangerous on the ball. evra is ligthning. we got only 2 - torres & gerrard. babel still in infancy. + our back four looked really shaky.

dominate. our style of play? yes, with high tempo all the time. that s why we can see our player treat the ball like hot potatoes, tend to pass/hoof/long ball quickly or too quick upfront. the things is, we sometimes need to slow down the tempo, to regain composure, finding inch space between the defense. some intricate lovely passing game needed in the final 3rd in our midfield. we really lack that kind of quality.

true class wide man/winger. someone who can carry the ball forward with pace & skills & stay wide. feckin wide. babel? more like 2nd type striker & cant be arsed to stay wide. & play the feckin ball more on the ground, making runs, passing quality. we have tendency to go for stood still & hoosh pass.

momo played as advanced CM ahead of gerrad.... if you want to play 3 man CM , play gerrard as advanced midfielder. or lucas or kewell or babel but momo play there for the whole 94mins. even when we were chasing the game. "momo likes to runs forward, he s not holding midfielder" - you can hear it last time rafa said bout momo. the sooner someone kidnapp momo, keep him somewhere in the dungeons away from rafa s eye, the better.

momo is not defensive midfielder. he doesnt have discipline to sit back, he cant play infront of our back four, he likes to wonder forward, making runs, BUT he cant pass, (i mean class "creative" passes) he s not attacking CM, he doesnt have attribute to be an attacking CM. he s more a destroyer, breraking up opponent in the middle. yet he played as more advanced CM against last night with 4 4 2 system. our attacking ideas/movement was very dire. especially from the center of midfield. i felt sorry for momo. we got alonso, marsch. & now leiva - all can do a lot better holding/covering/passing job at the back. other than gerrard, who can be our attacking/advance CM? momo? sell momo, buy an attacking class CM or maybe develope leiva into that role. imho.

thing is if our players posess with pressing game in their head all the time, they will loose composure + exhausted(harrying like madmen) against top side or highly compact defensive side. we need to play more possesion football. controlling the tempo, patience with slick pass.

he want to play pressing game. high pressure all the time. that his aim. to do this, he MUST do rotation policy. i d say u dont need to play high pressing game all the feckin time. just pass on the deck, keeping possesion, finding the net with killer/thru ball. not just crossing, hoofing from the back. don t treat the ball like feckin hot potatoes, like a robot standing still just one touch & pass - need to carry the ball, do some skill, trick pass opponent. the fullback must SUPPORT the attack. dont be so feckin overcautios. play like a***, barca, man u, or the mighty reds in the 80s!!

I think that we can improve a little bit by stopping teams from creating chances." without alonso, agger (passing/initiate movement from the back) i believe, he want to play counter attack, asked gerrard to sit back, playing alonso role, momo will win the ball, tackles, frustrate them, & the back was asked to sit deep. & giving vast space upfront for torres to make runs, & exploit. see- crouch the one who drop deep, holding the ball, for torres to have space to run in between defender. it was backfired.

why bring in voronin & play him on the flank? why not babel? put him on the right, move yossi in the middle support the middle. why our back 4 defend so deep? why gerrard was asked to play holding midfielder? he s our strongest attacking threat from the middle, & u put him at the back in our HOME game? if want to play with momo-gerrard combination, play 5 men midfield, put yossi as creative hole feckin hole

both momo & marsch cant keep the ball, lack passing ability & dictate the game from the back. why in the hell asked gerrard to sit deep? this is not england setup.

we re at home. need to win. against decent side. we should dominate, dictate the game, control posession, keep the back four high line.( or was it rafa tend to us drop deep, to give torres more space upfront? - skills, pure class player really need more space?) use gerrard as more advance & attacking central role. use the width. the opposite happened. the back four sit too deep, gerrrard was asked to be holder & distribute the ball from the back, the gap are far too much between central midfield & strikers. momo cant be holder CM marsch cant (wigan game& all game they play together) but they re so called 'the best defensive midfielder around' the destroyer. they need to be coached how to pass. how to retain the basic feckin thing. to be cool under pressure. keeping the ball. they supposed & should be holder CM . not going forward - because they re not going to be top attacking CM imo. box to box? okay, but the priority for gerrard is to attack, play upront . not cover the feckin superb back four we got atm. carra & sami we re all now are not ball playing defender. tend to hoof. no alonso. just gerrard. leave upfront isolated that the feckin prob last night imho
