  1. Alan Kennedy also said the other day that the ex-players had all been talking about Carroll for a little while now. Not exactly unknown to the the club and it's staff, current or otherwise.
  2. On top of income, the owners are allowed to add €15m on top of income. Assuming profit hits about €30m, then we're easily upto €45m. Assume sales of fringe players brings in an additional €10m and we're up to €55m. A further deficit of a maximum of €5m is allowed if it is covered by the owners, and we're upto €60m. I know it's not as simple as that, because we have to take wages, etc into account. It's quite possible that this was the last window we'll see of such massive spending by the likes of Chelsea, but even then as long as they can show that their losses are on a downward spiral, they can still be granted a licence by UEFA.
  3. Very true...
  4. Gerrard put us through this b******s twice. The second time, just weeks after winning a Champions Leaugue medal. Most fans will forgive Torres - maybe there won't be the same level of man love adoration for a while, but if he starts scoring regularly like he did in his first season, it'll be glossed over.
  5. I'm pretty sure that I read a while back, that we've got special dispensation from UEFA at the moment because our pitch is too small for UEFA competition. Edit Just checked. Our pitch is 101x68 (metres) - UEFA category four pitches have to be 105x68 (metres). Trigger's broom.
  6. There was supposed to be something written into his contract regarding the number of games played, etc, etc, and that he could go for free if the criteria weren't met.
  7. Wouldn't it be more likely to be Phillip Nash than Ayre? I assume Nash hasn't disappeared after the takeover.
  8. He said shortly after he left that he thought that he had been given a fair chance by Rafa.
  9. Oooooooohhhhhhh....... Carra won't like that. He wants everyone to like us.
  10. Sorted it for you. Anyway, there's no way in hell he'd be getting paid the full contract. One years pay is probably the most he would be getting.
  11. Purslow needed to nothing except what Slaughter & May told him to do The lawyers do all the work with the bank. I've worked with numerous law firms over the last 10 years and witnessed deals being done to know that for a fact. As for NESV, Broughton brought them to the table through his American contacts (Michael Klien ???). f*** all to do with Purslow. Purslow was busy trying to sell us to Rhone.
  12. Corrected it for you. No need to thank me. Crawling is soooooo 2010, Daaahling! Flying is the new crawling. I bet Fanning's hid hnimself in the cupboard and pissing himself waiting for that phonecall.
  13. Lawrenson, Lineker, Andy Gray, Alan Hansen, Peacock, Shearer, Merson, Charlie Nicholas, Le Tissier, et al, prove that footballers shouldn't be allowed to have opinions that are listened to. Maybe we should start listening to the pearls of wisdom on Sky and MOTD. Or is it the case, that they only start talking s**** after they've hung up their boots?
  14. Also, quite a few of the players knew before he did. Presumably it was leaked to him at half time from someone who'd been told beofre the game.
  15. Hmmmmm..... sounds familiar........
  16. Why did Meireles go off?
  17. Have you told yer missus, and what does she think of the idea?
  18. Exactly. I could understand people feeling sorry for him if it was just something that happened to him as he was walking along the road. But, f*** the man! His 35 years in football and especially his brief spell at Inter says he should have been prepared better than he seems to have been. It was his arrogance that led him to believe he could do a job without much money and a pressure cooker environment, where a European Cup and La Liga winning manager had struggled when a small section of the dressing room appears to have turned on him. It was his arrogance that that led him to think he could get away with slating players in public. It was his arrogance that led him to believe that he was protected by his LMA status and his English mates in the game and the media. It was his arrogance that led him to believe that he could set our expectations to match his, rather than understand the club, the history and the fans. It was his arrogance that led him to think we were just another bunch of fans and underestimate the relationship that we as Liverpool fans have had with the office of the manager since Bill Shankly. It was his arrogance that led him to have a go at fans on more than one occasion and think he wouldn't be called on it. It's his continuing arrogance to believe he is still the right man and that his methods which have served him for 35 years (not always sucessfully) will work here. It's his continuing arrogance to think we will accept a manager who doesn't get us. It's his continuing arrogance that won't let him "man up" and do a Keegan. It's his continuing arrogance that keeps him doing the same thing and keep failing. It's his continuing arrogance that's caught up with him. Some people call it Karma. Just to repeat... Happy and Prosperous New Year to you all. Except Hodgson and Purslow. They can fack off!
  19. Normally about a week before P45s are issued, isn't it?
  20. Yeah, comes and goes. Usually starts when I read or hear drivel, lasts about 5 minutes and bit of swearing usually gets it out my system. How about you? Must be constipated, having been stuck with it for years now.
  21. Serious question... why the f*** would anyone follow Hodgson's career?
  22. f*** off.
  23. I wonder if Darren from Thetford still feels the need to support this pathetic excuse for a manager.
  24. Apparently we don't count, and it's the rank and file that's important.
