  1. Torres dropped.
  2. Purslow is the lowest of the low. The man is so two faced that it defies belief. Plus incompetant, LFC are now going to end up wasting 10 to 15M on 3 different mangers in 12 months all due to him. You have Rafa compensation when there was no need to remove him. The hiring of Hodgson from Fulham and now his compensation money. That alone is approx 10M and we have to now poach a manager from another club, that will cost more. For this reason alone I reckon Frank R. might be becoming more and more attractive, or bring back Rafa.
  3. I really dont see us beating Bolton today with all these stories in the media today about Hodgson. I know Kenny has said lets all get together and get 3 points but I cannot see the team pulling together at present. Coyle will be well up for it and his team will be well prepared for this. Plus would not be surprised to see Torres on the bench.
  4. I reckon they want him to resign. So he will be made a fool of, its his choice , he could and still can resign.
  5. Reading that article making the following assumptions: Hodgson asked to resign to save face for himself, looks like he refused. FSG leaked story about search for new manager. Players told to play for their futures and the club.
  6. Hodgson Out petition Currently 11,464 Signatures
  7. Hodgson will have to be sacked , he wont resign, so do FSG have the inclination to act now or wait until the Summer. I reckon they want to muddle through until the summer but by then there is a serious chance we will be relegated and Torres and Pepe will be at Arsenal or Chelsea. He destroyed the Blackburn championship winning team and he will destroy Liverpool.
  8. Remember when Pepe used to launch quick counter attacks with a quick long throw or pass to whoever was available. Distant memory now.
  9. Would be worried about some players mentality for this game... especially the ones who would not be supporters of Roy
  10. True. Lack of respect for the club
  11. Plus also if NESV have adopted this strategy for their Liverpool investment , it makes things easier if local management are compliant and toe the line. The Liverpool management would have to work within the defined parameters of the strategy and not rock the boat too much in making demands outside the budget parameters. Silk purse / sows ear and all that.
  12. I am sorry but that statement from him is not an apology.
  13. Always felt what you stated above was true about them, they remind me of Randy Lerner at Villa, minimal capital investment but contuine to grow the business. Plus they went quiet on the stadium very fast.
  14. Their bloody email accounts and site should be bombarded with protest emails
  15. This is what happens when you have absentee Landlords. Bloody disgrace.
  16. Get rid of Hodge first. Kenny is not the answer. The source for this drive for Kenny come from during the summer when he put his name forward after seeing who Purslow was planning on getting to replace Rafa, namely Hodgson. He could see this was going be a disaster and tried to prevent it. I doubt Kenny would have gone for the role if we were after a serious candidate to replace Rafa. The problem is Hodgson.
  17. Who at the club currently gives daily / weekly updates to Henry & Warner in Boston? So who would update them that the club supporters have turned on Hodgson? Ian Ayre? Purslow?
  18. NESV cannot use the excuse that sacking him now without a replacement lined up would be wrong. There is options out there including Kenny.
  19. No, as a coach , not as assistant manager he would be better than Sammy Lee, who seems to be bring in Big Sams tactics of Kick and Hoof. The point is our first team coaches are not up to standard including the manager.
  20. What about this team to replace the Hodgson crew? Considering that all other good up and coming managers in Europe are tied up on long term contracts and these 3 are available now. Rijkaard - on a 3 year contract. Experience / believes in the beautiful game. Would work with Commolli. Paco Ayestarán as his assistant - Knows the club / Good Coach. Chris Hughton - Good Coach / Premiership experience / plus does seem to get best out of difficult players. Prob wont take step down but still Brian Kidd then at MCFC after gap of few years, same could happen to him.
  21. From The Guardian .... Guardian Blog Liverpool have to sack Hodgson now Pass and move, it's the Liverpool groove? Not any more. The Hodgson way is more hoof and pray. As endless long punts were hammered towards Fernando Torres and David Ngog during last night's defeat to Wolves, it became increasingly impossible to justify Roy Hodgson lasting at Anfield beyond the end of the week. Patience has its virtues, and chairmen can be trigger-happy, but it is hardly compulsory; Hodgson's time is up. He simply has to go. Forget about giving him extra time and the chance to dip into the transfer market in January. Trust has to be earned and Hodgson has failed. Liverpool are perched three points above the bottom three. Losing to Northampton Town, Blackpool and Wolves at Anfield in the space of six months, no matter what financial constraints Hodgson has had to work under, is a grotesque underachievement for a club of Liverpool's elevated standing. For all his complaints about the situation he inherited from Rafael Benítez, Hodgson took over a squad containing Pepe Reina, Jamie Carragher, Javier Mascherano, Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt and Torres. Granted, he lost Mascherano to Barcelona but he also willingly parted with Alberto Aquilani, while bringing in the laughable pair of Paul Konchesky and Christian Poulsen. Although Liverpool were average last season, they still finished seventh. With the players at his disposal, Hodgson has introduced an ugly, negative route-one style, which last night saw the defence bypassing the midfield with alarming regularity. These tactics might have sufficed at Fulham, but then Hodgson has often appeared dumbfounded by the level of expectation at Anfield. Not only is this approach unforgivable against Wolves, who were bottom of the table before the game and had amassed just one point on their travels all season, it is hopelessly misguided considering the players at Hodgson's disposal. Torres is not exactly Kevin Davies – he needs the ball played to feet or for him to run on to. He will never beat the likes of Christophe Berra in the air. Torres is a world-class striker being forced to operate like a lower-league journeyman, even if his form has been at that standard since the summer. While Liverpool's players must take some responsibility too, clearly Hodgson has lost the dressing room, if he ever had it in the first place. Under Benítez, when Liverpool were losing games at Anfield, teams would brace themselves for the inevitable barrage as they defended their goal at the Kop End, waiting for Gerrard to pop up with a jaw-dropping equaliser. Last night there was nothing. With Wolves, whose sparky, attractive style of play belied their lowly position, required to do the bare minimum, dissent grew among the home supporters. Afterwards Hodgson was critical of the fans, questioning where the "famous support" had gone. He sounded like an away fan mocking a subdued home crowd about the lack of atmosphere. It almost appears as if he is getting his shots in early. Liverpool's supporters already disliked Hodgson. This will be seen as a step too far.
  22. Sorry , you are right, re-read it again. Frustration getting better.
  23. Bull. Using a poker analogy he was dealt a good hand, not a great one , but he managed to completely mess it up. Why did he allow Insua and Aqualini to leave before he ran the complete rule over the squad. Every decision he has made have been poor. The man is a spoofer and has been found out.
  24. From the Echo last few minutes...the campaign for HODGSON OUT is ramping up Anybody with twitter account should link below to their account Echo Hodgson stats Roy Hodgson's record at Liverpool FC: the statistics so far Dec 30 2010 By Sean Bradbury Comments (10) Recommend (1) The stats make grim reading for Liverpool FC manager Roy Hodgson, who last night tasted defeat for the ninth time in 29 games as Anfield boss - plunging the Reds to a 57-year low. Wolves' win leaves Liverpool on just 22 points going into the New Year, their lowest tally at this stage of the season since 1953/54 when Don Welsh’s side was relegated. Hodgson has still never beaten Wolves as a Premier League manager, while last night's visitors - bottom of the league before kick-off - had not won at Anfield since 1984. The Reds have already lost to two of the promoted clubs this term - Newcastle away, Blackpool at home - and now find themselves just three points off the relegation zone and five points from the foot of the table. The Blackpool defeat in October put Liverpool into the bottom three and - in the first statistical nod to the 1953/54 season - meant the Reds had got off to their worst league start for 57 years. And Kopites will remember Liverpool's Carling Cup clash against League Two outfit Northampton back in September for all the wrong reasons, with Hodgson's side crashing out on penalties in what many considered to be the most embarrassing home performance since Worcester City in 1959. While last night's loss also came at Anfield, Hodgson's away record with Liverpool so far is perhaps more of a cause for concern. The Reds have been beaten six times and have managed only one win on the road in the league this season, scoring just six goals. Hodgson has never won more than five away games in charge of a Premier League team in a single season; Rafael Benitez won only five away games in 2009/10 and it was not deemed good enough to keep him at LFC. Benitez won 13 away games with the Reds in the 2008/09 campaign - the same amount Hodgson has won in his Premier League managerial career to date. Roy Hodgson's Premier League away record in full: 1997/98 at Blackburn Rovers - 5 away wins - finished 6th 1998/99 at Blackburn Rovers - 0 away wins - sacked when 20th 2007/08 at Fulham - 3 away wins - finished 17th 2008/09 at Fulham - 3 away wins - finished 7th 2009/10 at Fulham - 1 away win - finished 12th 2010/11 at Liverpool - 1 away win so far - currently 12th How Hodgson compares overall to past LFC managers: Manager Matches Won Drawn Lost Win % Roy Hodgson 29 12 8 9 41.38% Rafael Benitez 350 194 77 79 55.43% Gerard Houllier 325 165 81 79 50.77% Roy Evans 244 123 63 58 50.41% Graeme Souness 157 65 47 45 41.4% Kenny Dalglish 307 187 78 42 60.91% Joe Fagan 131 70 37 24 53.44% Bob Paisley 535 307 132 96 57.38% Bill Shankly 783 407 198 178 51.98% Read More http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2010/12/30/roy-hodgson-s-record-at-liverpool-fc-the-statistics-so-far-100252-27908002/#ixzz19bT2tCOM
  25. Comments from Rory Smith during web chat last few minutes: Rory Smith: Right, this is based on what you might term educated guesswork rather than any guidance, but I would say the five managers Liverpool would look at in the summer are: Frank Rijkaard (maybe a bit old now, but an established name), Owen Coyle (proven-ish in England, plays good football), Jurgen Klopp of Dortmund, Didier Deschamps of Marseille and Andre Villas Boas of Porto. In terms of who I'd have, the last one. He's 33, Mourinho's old assistant, plays good football and he'd be a jolt of the unexpected. Liverpool is flatlining; you need a risk to revive it.
