What?

Surely this was Rafa's choice to play these players today? He could have played Crouch, Hyypia and Warnock today which have only meant 2 "new players" today? He presumably chose to play Agger, Bellamy/Kuyt and Gonzales as he thought they were better options? Let's not hide behind Rafa's trying to bed in new players as an excuse for a poor poor performance.

Gordon Taylor got himself on Radio 5 as quickly as he could to denounce Newell and demand he be sacked. Wonder if he would have done this if it was a player? Personally I think Newell is using sex as an excuse for decisions not going his team's way. How come he didn't moan about there being a female official before the game?

Taking the captaincy off Sami helped him improve his game, perhaps it would help Steve? Whether he plays in CM or out on the right, he's not playing well atm and he's the best player at the club in both positions (and probably at LM and RB as well!)

all 3 of their goals came through the centre of our defence yesterday. Carra and Sami's days as the central defensive pairing are coming to an end I'm afraid. I'd bring in Agger now, seeing as our challenge for the title is over for the season. Give him time to bed in before the Cup finals come along.

I'd give the captaincy to Carra and tell Steve he needs to concentrate on sorting out his own game rather than being expected to carry the team. I'm not convinced that being asked to play on the right is the problem with him. We know from past experience that his form can be influenced by events off the pitch and he needs to sort his head out. I've heard he's thinking of moving to the wirral to help put a stop to some of the sh** being stirred up about him. Might be a good thing for him.

How come Rafa's only won one trophy for us so far this season - and a mickey mouse one at that?
