  1. I agree completely - except that Arsenal didn't actually outbid us for Walcott; we simply wouldn't pay millions (£5-6m was it?) on an unproven 16 year old. I've seen nothing of him since to show that we were wrong. We made a profit on Kvarme but that's all I can remember. Anyway George, have you abandoned Koptalk finally? You were always one of the more interesting posters
  2. She's not all that really. I was expecting much better from the build-up. Wouldn't say no of course, but I've had much better - must be the scouse wit!
  3. Essien is basically a thug and I've never seen him pass the ball more than 5 yards sideways. Christ knows why anyone rates him
  4. Is it not just the case that we have to offer him a contract on at least the same terms in order to get a fee for him? So a technicality rather than a desire to keep him on the books
  5. For a minute there I thought I saw you suggesting that if we get taken over by Middle Eastern billionaires we should buy Joey Barton. Laugh? I nearly bought my own beer
  6. Depends what you mean by historically. Everton were much richer than us in the 60s
  7. Morgan was never in a position to make a bid. As I never tire of pointing out he wanted a rights issue, which would mean Moores would pay the bulk of the refinancing while almost inevitably reducing his majority shareholding.
  8. What utter nonsense. No-one forces anyone to look for work in Dubai. They're not being rounded up by raiding parties and shipped there. They're only too eager to go. I've been there a few times and all the foreign workers - practically all from the Indian sub-sontinent and the Philippines - were happy to be there and treat it as a means to an end. I didn't speak to anyone who regretted being there
  9. Based on what?
  10. I'm sorry but your talking b******s
  11. He is now.........and painfully slow
  12. Cisse was a headless chicken with worse ball control than Carlton Palmer I think you mean "...toe the party line...". Please try harder In fact he was signed as a midfielder, not a defender
  13. I'm guessing Warner was a bluenose actually, as when he was on Soccer AM a few months ago he was asked who was the best goalkeeper he'd ever seen. Quick as a flash he said Neville Southall. Decent goalie etc, but only an Evertonian would describe him as the best ever The great Chris Lawler, our RB in my childhood, was a boyhood Red. His goalscoring record was phenomenal for a RB who didn't take penalties or free-kicks. He was superb in the air, so got on the end of lots of set-pieces and had great close control so was as good as a striker on the deck. Scored a brilliant overhead kick in a derby game at Anfield. Our best ever RB in my book - in my lifetime anyway. My mate who used to live in Cardiff grew up with Bellamy and was invited to his wedding and told me a long time before he was even linked with us that he was a Liverpool fan. Anyway another scum player who was a boyhood red is John O'Shea, as was Robbie Keane No - big time Evertonian
  14. Unfair - next! Nothing to do with Houllier. Lyon were the top French side before he went there
  15. I'm afraid there's nothing but knee-jerk in there - and you're bloody whingeing
  16. Wright Phillips is s*** - we'd be no no better off. Let him go to West Ham. That's a club of his level
  17. Poolfrog

    Fowler

He's finished - not good enough - get rid
  18. Nice theory, but it's not much help when after 3 passes it's back with Reina
  19. What's being disappointed got to do with anything? You don't support a club to be happy/pleased/excited. You just support them - end of story. I don't know if you were around in the Shankly era. If you weren't then I don't know how you would have coped with the entirely trophy-free 7 year period between out league championships in 1966 and 1973, with only a failed cup final in 1971 to lighten the gloom. We didn't whinge about being disappointed - we got behind the team
  20. This is the first time I've seen a man use the term "beauty products" and confess to using them. What strange times we live in
  21. If we won our next 15 we'd only still be short of the top if the teams above us didn't drop points. How can you be 100% sure?
  22. I agree. Although we lost to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, we played them off the park. We played too badly to be true at Man U, but they still only scored through two defensive howlers and basically created nothing else. Their game yesterday was almost devoid of decent football - all 100 mph stuff ...and utterly crap and anonymous in the 2006 World Cup
  23. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Shaun Wright Phillips is nowhere near good enough for us. He runs up blind alleys, can't cross, has no awareness of the game going on around him and basically has no end product. He'd be a waste of £10M. West Ham is about the right level for a player with so many obvious flaws Thank God - he's just no good.
  24. Ronaldo becoming a world-class player?? Have a word with yourself! He's a decent winger, no more, no less, but light years from world class
  25. All very interesting............but how far is 2 kms? We don't use kms in the UK. Just curious like
