I like Carrick but he'll never be in Didi's class. Doesn't have the smarts. Hansen really needs to get a grip when talking about Carrick. Anyone else notice he's always creaming himself over him? In no way was Carrick "magnificent" today.

I think both of them are miles ahead of England. They actually play as a team and don't look like they're playing with each other for the first time. And they have good managers.

I couldn't believe that. Barely noticed Carrick. England had the easiest group and faced a f***ing awful team in the last 16 - easily the worst. Still looked poor.

You'd have to fancy either Holland or Portugal against England. Both teams have pace and threat in attack, and Holland in particular are strong at the back. England fans - the honest ones - must be crying in their beer at these performance and by the fact that with McClaren taking over once Mr Burns leaves, nothing is going to change. At all.

The worst games in the whole competition have been the England matches. I actually get aggrivated I find them so mind-numbing to watch. They were crap again today. I've never seen an international captain who offers as little as Beckham does. Take away the goal - what else did he offer? Nada. Nice to see him make sure he was the last off the field after the game though... Although it is enjoyable seeing Lampard have such a poor tournament

He wasn't at his best tonight (although he was better in 2nd half) but the way Riquelme makes space for himself is the best i've seen since Zidane in his prime. Could be even better at it than ZZ. And no matter how much of an influence he has on a game - even if he's poor - he seems to have at least one brilliant moment when he picks a pass and creates an opening.

You could be right. Their midfield and options up front could be enough to get them through, but it often comes down to the defenses and a bit of grit.

They'll brush Germany aside. It'll be a Argentina v Brazil/Spain final. Can't make my mind up on Brazil or Spain! Depends if their last match has got the Brazilians into gear. Didn't know Cambiasso only went to Inter in 2004. Thought he was there for ages.

Really? Has he not been at Inter for years? Was at Real Madrid as a youngster, I think. Excellent player, IMO. Their squad is immense. Like you, their steel and character impressed me today. I just can't see anyone stopping them. The keeper was supposed to be their weak link, but i think he's done well. Messi should be starting, though.

I saw him a lot of Barca last season and he always impressed. Great player. Wenger is supposed to be very keen on Mascherano. Looks like he can take care of himself. Been excellent so far. Cambiasso has been excellent, i think, but i'm always drawn to his hair...

It's a joy to watch Argentina, and tonight they showed they also have guts and character. Fantastic game. Haven't seen much of Rodriquez before the WC - plays for Atletico doesn't he? - but been so impressed with him. Cambiasso has been good, and Maschareno has been fantastic. He'll be off to a big European club after this methinks. Does Messi get the hype in Argentina/Spain that Rooney gets in England? He f***ing should!!

Cisse is mediocre. He'll prob do the business again when he goes back to France but he's not good enough for The premiership. Such a dissapointing signing.
