The history page of the Keane wiki is hilarious. One person keeps changing it back. (cur) (last) 13:21, 18 July 2008 Fieldday-sunday (Talk | contribs) (28,383 bytes) (For the hundred millionth time, Keane has not signed for Liverpool yet!) (undo) Obviously not in the know http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robbie_Keane

I used to post on a Spurs forum after Redknapp moved and they were always genuine and polite, never a bad word. Granted at a game it's different and maybe im talking nonsense but i was asking a question in my original post which was "who do we like?". Sorry for going off topic.
-
I'm just curious because it didn't always used to be like this back in the day but now whenever i read here, TLW or RAWK it's constant bashing of other clubs. Go for a pint, same. At the game ditto. It's one thing to hate Utd and Everton but now it's just about every club.
-
So exactly who DO Liverpool fans like? It's getting on my nerves that the mutual respect we used to show to teams be they Spurs or Sc***horpe is all but gone. Over the last few years i have noticed a trend of hatred to just about every other club. It's one thing to support your club and another to bash others for the hell of it. Sad really as we used to always have a good rapport with Tottenham fans and a respect for the football they play.

In The Know. Don't worry it took me ages to figure it out as well.

It's got nothing to do with his market value which as you correctly pointed out is not £20m but everything to do with ours and Spurs' current situation. They don't need to sell, especially with Berbatov also leaving so the only way we can pinch him is my over paying. I would also imagine that after the Barry fiasco we just want to get it over with, match their valuation and pay a couple of extra million that could be spared from haggling.
-
Doubt it will be today. Spurs fans saying that he was in training this morning in Spain. It's almost 5 now and medicals are usually done during the day with the exception of transfer/euro deadline. Tomorrow would be far more likely at this point if Elisha is right as he usually is.

Carrick was 24 when they signed him. The big difference is resale. If you sign a 27/28 year old they have little resale value in a couple of years time, hence why Barry is over priced.
-
Because it's our money. As in me and you. If you go to a game, buy your kid a shirt, hell even subscribe to sky. I'm paying for it. You wouldn't waste your own money would you? Furthermore it's all about budget. Over spend on one player leaves you with less on the next player and since their paid in installments it will leave you short for a few years. Worst of all there is the Leeds scenario where they spent without employing an accountant and look at what happened to them. Football is a lot more than a Saturday afternoon at Anfield.

Finally. Our first ever Italian *signing* at Anfield.
-
So Barry has been banned from training? Well it would obviously be against the rules to bring him to Melwood for a few days to train so i propose we take Melwood to him. That's right, send Stevie, Jamie, Sami et all down to Birmingham to play ball down the local park. Tip off a journo, sit back and watch the fireworks. MON

Anyone else think Senna was man of the tournament? He is wasted at Villarreal. If we weren't covered in that area he would be a great signing for us.
-
If Spain win i doubt he'll care about how many goals he ended the tournament with.
-
Exactly. He has to respect the Villa fans. He wants to maintain good ties with the club and who can blame him? Some players don't care (Ronaldo for one), others are more diplomatic. I respect that. Besides, he's not a Liverpool player yet. You can't put all your eggs in one basket, saying Liverpool are the greatest club in the world and i have supported them all my life and their the only team i have ever wanted to play for - only for it to fall through and sign for United the following week.

Time for some Alonso

Who wouldn't rather have Torres? He's probably the best striker in the world right now and was valued at £50m. Comparing him to Adebayor though, last season Nando scored 33 in 46 with Adebayor netting 30 in 48. Not much between them if you are only going by stats but Torres has been doing it for years while Adebayor has had one good season. It was only 12 in 44 the season before last so £32m is stupid money if you ask me.

Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill is reported to be lining up a move for Tottenham’s £5m-rated goalkeeper Paul Robinson. (Birmingham Mail 1227 BST) http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/g...ers/7472603.stm Guess they don't want Carson anymore
-
Absolutely. The only possible reason that bid was rejected is because we expect another one. Be it from Pompey or another club.
-
Isn't it obvious? Barry's value dropped £2m while the journalist was writing that up for the paper.

4 papers saying 4 different things on the same day

Pompey's £9m Crouch bid rejected Liverpool have rejected a bid for striker Peter Crouch from Portsmouth, BBC Radio Merseyside understands. Neither club are prepared to comment on the reports but the offer is believed to have been in the region of £9m. The 27-year-old played under Pompey boss Harry Redknapp at Southampton before he moved to Merseyside for £7m in the summer of 2005. Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has hinted he would consider offers for Crouch in the region of £15m. The England international has scored 40 goals in 135 appearances for the Anfield side but has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place last season. Crouch was relegated behind Fernando Torres, who scored 33 goals for the Reds after signing from Atletico Madrid last summer. But Crouch, who has a year left on his current deal with the Anfield club, still managed to net 11 goals as he was mainly used as a substitute by Benitez. Crouch started his career as a trainee at Tottenham before moves to QPR, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Norwich, Southampton and Liverpool. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ool/7471969.stm

How could i forget the legend that was Antonio Nunez!
-
I've read that from a few people. Sorry but i just don't buy it at all. He took over as manager of Spain at the same time as Rafa came to us. In that time i believe he has called up every one of our Spanish players to the squad with the exception of Josemi. We have 4 Liverpool players in their Euro 2008 squad. That's more than either Real Madrid or Barca! No one can fault him for having Pepe as number 2. Arbeloa only broke into the Spanish squad since coming to Anfield, Torres has started every game and Xabi has won 45 caps since 2003, the majority since moving here in 2004. If anything he has been great in encouraging other Spanish players to come to Liverpool as he has proven it won't affect their International place as some feared when Xabi and Morientes came.
