Never saw it. But the bogs were so bad you would avoid them at almost all costs, so I can believe it. But it can't have been that widespread from 72 to the early 90s, my years standing there. People did piss up at the back and on the steps down behind, which looked like waterfalls after half time. In those days I was younger and had much more control over my bladder. I didn't drink nearly as much either. I don't think we should romanticize the past, because there were dangers that wouldn't be tolerated now. But the atmosphere was a LOT better then. Pennies to get in (no advance tickets needed, no credit cards, no booking fees, no season ticket necessary) and we won all but a couple of games a season at home. I used to turn up what seemed like HOURS before the game just to feel it all building up and sing, sing, sing.
