  1. I for one was disgusted with the singing of this song last night, Or to be specific the time spent singing negative songs. We all moan about the owners bringing private matters into the public arena. last night many fans were just as bad. the odd rendition of this or other negative songs i could live with but not all night. I for one could see the effect it had on the team. Keep your protests away from the match, support the team. the last thing we want is to be in the papers for the wrong, non-football, reasons and last night we fell into the tabloid trap. Some nice photo's for the press and fuel an the argument that we are now the laughing stock of the prem. Protests are for Newcastle fans and other 2nd rate teams. Get a grip, those songs about yanks and Tom Hicks big fat head are not funny and do not support the theory of "Best supporters in the world". We can influence the direction of the club but make it positive and not like last night. embarrassed i was.
  2. Turns out my lad was asked to leave the ground after the goal. He didn't tell me as he thought i would go mad at him. I did go mad but not at him. Mad at the Wigan fan sat in front of him who walked down to the steward and pointed him out. Mad at the steward for throwing out a 15yr old lad watching a match not causing any trouble. He went with 3 mates who are all Wigan season ticket holders and up until the goal there were no problems at all. For the 1st time i now pray for a team to get relegated. I'm disgusted by the whole club if this is what they allow. Considered writing a letter to the club but doubt it will make any difference. For those who question sitting in the home end, where do Wigan think the extra 10,000 plus fans come from for the big games. neutral and away fans must make up a large portion. My lad said the stewards outside were making Liverpool fans cover up their shirts and allowed them in. If you take the money then how can you throw them out. I know i would not leave if asked to do so, knowing a little bit of law makes me wonder what power they have to remove you. As long as you don't cause any problems then stay put in your seat. Not wearing any club colours could make you a neutral fan just celebrating good football, as was the case with the Liverpool goal on Saturday.
  3. Season ticket prices for kids is just over £100 for the JJB. Ideal for those who love football and can't get to any of the North West clubs due to high prices and sell out grounds. Loads of kids have season tickets but don't support Wigan as their 1st team. They get to see all the top teams at the JJB as well as their own team. My lad went today on his mates season ticket and warned not to cheer when we scored. He ignored what he was told but not involved in any trouble. Said at least 25% of the fans around him were Red's and all were celebrating the goal. Had this problem for the last few years at Wigan as they never sell out for even the big games, that is unless a local team and away fans buy tickets for the home end. Can't see how they can eject anyone who has paid his money and is not causing any trouble.
  4. Thinking of making a trip over to Spain to take in a match. With cheap flights into Murcia wanted to know the best way to get hold of match tickets. Tried the club web site and shock horror its in Spanish!!!!!!! Anyone any idea's or links. Not bothered about one of the top teams just want to go to a game. Found the fixture list, sorted out accommodation and flights wont be a problem. Tried a couple of tour site's and they want 150+ Euro's for tickets.
  5. Used the code 4 times now, using different hotmail address each time. Had them delivered to a different address as well and so far saved over £100. Can even use the code on sale items as long as total order over £40. Kids love their new K-Swiss for £30
  6. The only thing that is tiresome is your moaning, I did not resort to abuse and you suggest i reach puberty and call me a g*******. I dont have a problem with keeping a promise or someone's confidence, however some started the debate by stating they would post the pictures and then they go all moral and back down. In life you have to live and die by your own actions and in this case dont promise what you cant (or dont have the balls to) deliver. Ant when you grow up come back for an adult conversation
  7. Seems to me that some on here think the rest of us can't be trusted and are protecting the club. Saying i've seen the pictures and can't post them is bo****ks. You should not have seen them and managed it, sneaking pictures from a friend behind has back and then saying can't break his trust is the worst of the lot, good friend he must be to even consider it. Don't want to post pictures don't start the debate. Don't want to post pictures don't continue the debate. If as many people who suggest they have seen them have then they would have been posted by now. Same old story, every year over transfers when we sign someone so many post "Told you so". Get a grip and post the pictures, you protect nobody and the trust was broken when you let slip you have seen them. Does not upset anyone when you say you cant post them, but as i already said its complete and utter bo****ks. Everyone breaks a promise at some point and would you be the same over a big transfer story. I doubt it. Have some balls and post the pictures instead of posting excuses.
  8. Anyone got links to press photo's. Been on getty images and looking for other sites similar. Want pictures of the flags on the running track.
  9. Who was to Blame 1) UEFA for ticket allocation, Give the fans most of the tickets and stop the touts. 2) Greek authorities for not having in place a proper ticket checking procedure. Turnstiles are the only answer and to try and stop fans on a site that big was always going to cause problems. Some information outside the ground for fans attending would assist. 3) UEFA and Greek authorities, don't blame ticketless fans for trying to get into the ground. You caused the problem so you Police it. Fans have always tried to get in without tickets, happened at the old Wembley and has been going on for nearly 100 years since football became popular. You knew 40-50'000 Liverpool fans would attend the game but did nothing about it. YES YOU ARE TO BLAME NOBODY ELSE. 4) Fans, if you want to go on a piss up the don't go the match. Drunken fans cause problems due to the fact alcohol effects you thought process. Get into the ground early and save the crush near to kick off. Have none of you learnt from years gone by. Late arrivals cause problems and we will never get away from that. Solutions. 1) Pressure on UEFA to allocate at least 25,000 tickets to each club. Sod the UEFA family they are just legal touts. If any returned from the clubs then consider selling on. 2) Pick a decent venue and have a contingency plan if two big clubs or two from the same country make the final (be flexible) 3) Take into account ticketless fans and provide large screens and bars for them to watch the match. As was proved in the recent World Cup, fans just want to sample the atmosphere and do not usually cause problems. Unless they think they are being treated like 2nd class citizens. 4) Sort out transport links. If the Airport can't cope with the number of fans then rule out the venue. Human rights have to come into this and UEFA need to address this problem.
  10. Here's my take on the trip. Straight from the off fans on our flight just wanted to get pissed and football seemed to come 2nd. Due to delays we only arrived in Athens at 4.30pm, when informed we were going straight to the ground many complained they had gone nearly 4 hours without a drink and wanted to stop for a few beers. Tour guide refused and we went straight to the ground, after a very quick detour to get a bite to eat and drink we entered the complex (via the coach park entrance) without any problems at all. 1st checkpoint was the UV ticket check and staff appeared very relaxed. Walked up and spent a short time in the fan zone and everything seemed fine up to that point. Made our way along and queued for programmes, it was at this point we saw the 2nd entrance (near the train station from city centre). this was packed with thousands of fans trying to get in. As we watched saw Police running towards the entrance and decided it was time to get in the ground (we did not see any fighting at all). Arrived at the 2nd checkpoint and again managed to get through without any problems, just show your ticket and you are through. Onto what appeared to be a 3rd checkpoint and it was abandoned, walked straight through and arrived at gate 1. It was about 10 deep with the stewards on the other side of a gate letting in 1 fan at a time. After about 5 mins the gate was opened and we were allowed in again just showing your ticket, it was never inspected. Once inside the ground it was Ok at first until numbers grew and listening to most of the young lads around us, having a ticket was the exception. Now most of these young lads caused no problems and described various ways as to how they managed to get into the stadium. They are not the only problem, have since heard various accounts from those on our trip how once they were dropped off by the coaches they spent the afternoon getting pissed and only tried to get into the ground 30mins before kick off. Only returned late Thursday afternoon (did the opposite in 2005 coming home after game and said never again) so didn't see any of the Airport problems. Again witnessed the antics of idiots who just want to get pissed (don't get me wrong i can drink with the best but when it effects those around you don't do it) the abuse they gave out on the coach on the way to the Airport was unbelievable and the poor guide (female) or anyone else should not have to listen to abuse like that. Thats my story of Athens 2007. I will follow it up with who was to blame and how to resolve some of the problems later
  11. Heard a good one on the way back today from Athens. Any bitter bluenose giving you stick at work or school, ask them to nip home and bring back all their tickets stubs from finals in the last 20 years to compare with your own. Doubt they will want to continue the conversation much from that point.
  12. Just ordered 5. Postage is £6.50 for the lot which still makes them much cheaper than most site's. Seen them between £13-£15 on other sites. Saves carrying them round Athens or missing out when they all get robbed like in 2005 !
  13. I for one believe the issue is with UEFA, yes we need answers to ticket distribution within the club and many will not rest until we get a simple breakdown of numbers. If the club has nothing to hide they wont mind releasing the figures. What was the number going into the ballot ? How many went to club Officials / Employee's and Corporate packages. If in total Approx 80% of the tickets went to fans (13500) then i don't think we could complain. As a Season Ticket holder i was not aware that i would be treated the same as a fan card holder who could have attended the Champ's league games only, The fact i have attend every home game and have done for many years should give me some priority. The answer could have been a percentage of available tickets being split say 60% / 40% between the two groups. The main problem is as i said above UEFA. It would make sense for the initial allocation for each finalist to be in the region of 25000, any returned could then go back into the pot, with again a percentage given to the other finalist if they request more tickets (won't always be the case). A protest at the Final may be fitting with all Liverpool fans who attend, either with tickets through the club or by other means holding a Red card aloft at kick off just to embarrass UEFA on TV showing what a complete shambles the ticketing policy is.
  14. Thanks for that, just tried and no password or email linked to fancard so will have to wait and see in the morning. Tried sending an email to customer services and reply said 7-10 days before they reply (what use is that to me) Could be a long day wed waiting for the site to recover each time 20,000 users try to logon!!!!!!!
  15. Help required, Have never used my fancard on the Liverpool website and it looks a though this is the only way i will find out if i have a ticket on Wed. How do i access the information showing my fancard history. Simple guide if possible please as not that competent on PC

    Flights

Can only travel at the earliest Tuesday PM. Would like to stay over for at least one night but looks like it may be the day trip. Anyone know of organised trip leaving late Tues or early Wed that would fit. Flight from Liverpool or possible Man Most trips seem to be leaving early Tuesday and cant make it
  17. Went on ebay earlier and full set of home stubs for this year alone, with 2 aways Barca and Bordeaux. (Plus 15 mixed league and cup tickets) Went for £200.
  18. Desperate to go as both me and my lad went in 2005. Son wants to go again but with flights at approx £650 each he is looking for ways to raise some of money to help out. A bit of help after he suggested selling off his Home (Kop) ticket stubs for the games in 2005, 2006 Aan this year. The only stub he is missing is PSV 1/4 final. Not sure if this is the right forum to ask. Should i allow him to sell such an important piece of history (as i have all the stubs as well), He wants to put them on ebay. How much would they go for (never seen a complete set of home tickets for 2005) as they do include 2 of the best nights in recent years Olympiakos and Chelsea. what do you think
  19. I think he has been a good chairman. In a period when we have struggled to compete with other teams he has still delivered some of the greatest results in our history and not a bad return of trophies over the years. If we have a go at him for the bad things then he must take credit for the good times. Don't want a chairman that is forever in the papers. Would anyone on here swop No 5 for anything, I doubt it. The club has to a degree been funded by Moores over recent years and we have spent a lot money. Yes he will sell his shares and recoup some of the money his family has invested, I for one do not have a problem with that. He is liverpool through and through, A great send off is required if he goes. I for one hope he stays on in some capacity at the club.
  20. Is it not the case that any group of away fans will find it much easier to get behind the team due to the fact that travelling fans are the hard core support for most teams. Gather a couple of thousand fans together and they should be able to outsing most home fans for the majority of a game. Our away support outsings the home fans at most games and we must expect it ourselves sometimes. The atmosphere at Anfield has never been the same since the introduction of all seater stadiums and none of us want to go back to that. Unless we introduce a seating policy allowing those who want to sing to be seated in the centre of the Kop, Again a couple of thousand fans in the centre would get the rest of the crowd going and create a cracking atmosphere. For those old enough to remember, just like the days of the standing Kop when all the singing started from one point behind the goal. Something for the club to consider when the new stadium up and running.
  21. I have been collecting programmes over the last few years and would like to get copies of the finals involving English teams. I know of a few sites that sell programmes but they are at little expensive at present and ebay is even worse. Anyone going or know someone going to either of the games who would bring me back a copy for a small charge or a link to a decent site charging a reasonable price. Programmes only cost about £5 i think.
  22. Cant see it clear on the clip and don't know if gerrard claimed for the Pen, Looks to me from the clip the ball hits him after being kicked away by one of the Bolton defenders taking his leg away. Did he claim for a Pen ? Not at all clear from the clip up top.
