You can't plan for these 'big injury' worries. If we get too many quality covers, there'll be disharmony in the squad, ala Chelsea. FWIW, I think our transfer dealings will depend on who and how much we get on our players sold. But I agree with you in that we only NEED 1 first-team right midfielder as Kromkamp, Cisse, Garcia and even Gerrard can 'cover' that position. 1 right midfielder, 1 striker(if Cisse stays) plus Aurelio, Gonzalez, Paletta & an experienced GK(hopefully jerzy stays) and we're all set.

4-year plan??

Agree with this. This is why I don't quite understand why Rafa wants to spend so much on a Defoe/Bellamy type of a striker. A great RW & a tall/strong AND goalscoring striker is more of priority.

I'd we sell Kewell rather than Garcia.

I think he's off.

No Arteta?! disgrace! sack Aragones!! seriously, that's quite a strong squad they have there.

Do we still need to qualify if we finish 2nd but the a*** wins the EC? 2nd, FAC & finishing above ManU is good!

and shevchenko!! ie needing to play 2 up front. it does make sense.

Hamann for Alonso & Traore for Cisse(with Warnock at LM) and we're set.

3-8-9-5 Reina, Carson & Dudek Hyypia, Carra, Agger, Paletta, Finnan, Kromkamp, Riise, Aurelio(or Warnock) Xabi, Momo, Zenden, Hamann, Gerrard, RW, Kewell, Gonzalez, Anderson(or any youth teamer) Fowler, Crouch, Garcia, ST1, ST2(i think FSP could take this spot) Obvious outs & ins there.....

FWIW, i think we'll sell traore, warnock & kirkland. For strikers, Moro & Cisse will be sold if we could find a buyer. I'd rather we sell kewell than garcia, if need to be, in which i hope we won't have too. dudek will be given another season as reserve goalie. as for players coming in, other than gonzalez, paletta and hopefully aurellio, one RW & one Striker and we're all set!!! I love CM-style transfer threads!

WAYNE ROONEY

an SG is't the best sweeper as well. but hey, as long as Pepe as our main striker...i'll go along with it.

Our starting 11 at the start of the season: Kuyt SG HK-XA-MS-Joaquin JAR-JC-SH-SF Pepe Subs: Dudek, Agger, Gonzalez, Crouch, Garcia, with Paletta, Aurellio, Kromkamp, Hamann, Fowler, Zenden and at a push Aguerro on the stands.... I'll take my medication now......

depends on how much money Rafa is given. But to sell 3 strikers(4 if you include Mellor) and buying 2 top strikers AND a top RW in a World Cup summer is pushing it if you ask me*. Besides, would Fowler (or the Kop for that matter) settle for being 4th choice? Pongolle as 4th for me. he's young, fast, has an eye for goal, knows the team, knows the league, CL experience, and knows his role. Unless we could get that Aguerro kid as the alternative. Then again....I ain't no Rafa. *cue "sack parry"...

and we're keeping cheyrou??? i agree with you in we shld keep FSP.

he'd be a good shout for our 4th striker. Not to mention being further down the pecking order shld Rafa play with a 5 midfield formation.

depends on: 1- How Rafa rates Fowler & Pongolle. 2- Any solid buyer willing to meet our valuation of Moro/Cisse 3- What kind of transfer kitty Rafa gets FWIW, I'd shift both Moro & Cisse shld we be able to get better replacement/s. Crouch, Fowler, FSP and A.N.other for me. (plus a RW) This summer's gonna be fun....

Imagine Henry & Ronnie in one team shld Barca buy him this summer.......... answering the 'poll' .....i'd go with Ronaldinho.

letting FSP go on-loan. Hopefully he'll get more chances next season. Oh, i think Garcia's great. I'd sell Kewell before i sell Garcia (with regards to the Garcia vs Fowler poll)

All those cards...none for Momo..... good on him!!

can we just give them djimi "european champion" traore?

Figaro....see what you have done? i think if we get Alves, we won't be looking for anymore RW in the summer. 12 mill euro looks like good business for a quality RW. I've never seen Alves play but I do trust Rafa's dealings. Now for strikers......

Finnan & Kromkamp, Riise & Aurelio(hopefully).......hmmmmmmmm
