  1. 1 Reina 2 Mascherano 3 Torres
  2. that Pele is quite useful
  3. so might Bruno Cheyrou
  4. Yes. He is suspended
  5. Yes I am for real. I thought Mascherano played very well as it happens (the first time pass to Finnan early in the second half was the ball of the night for me), but for 70 mins Inter had 10 men and were on the back foot so he wasn't under that much pressure. It was up to someone to open them up and keep driving us forward. And that was our captain. Sometimes Gerrard is so good and its easy to be blase about his brilliance. Simply magnificent tonight
  6. Gerrard (by a country mile) Kuyt Torres
  7. You don't seem to have understood the point Rafa's record in Europe is second-to-none. Outstanding in fact. All the more disappointing that despite nearly 4 years under his stewardship, millions spent and numerous players bought and sold, we are in fact competing in the league with Villa, Everton and City for 4th. I'm not praising any of City, Everton or Villa - merely pointing out that those are the teams we are competing with, and making the point that it is ridiculous to say "but Man U and Chelsea have spent more, Wenger's had more time blah blah." Not only is that argument rubbish - Wenger for example has replaced Henry, Vieira, Pires, Ljungberg, Campbell and Cole since Rafa's been here - but Rafa's been backed, spent good money and had time to get the team playing in the way he wants.
  8. Man City - Eriksson has been there all of 6 months Everton - had to sell their best player to Utd Villa - O'Neill in his second season?

    Sami

great Beckenbauer-esque run in the second half too
  10. that's exactly what Botham did once - Greg Chappell was on 94 and Australia needed 4 to win the test - they had plenty of wickets in hand so it was a foregone conclusion. Botham bowled a slow long hop at spinners' pace so Chappell could smack it for 6 and get his 100. He only managed a 4 mind...
  11. that Dion Fanning article is excellent. Genius from Rafa
  12. Excellent post.
  13. "The 33 or 34-year-olds will be 36 or 37 by the time the next World Cup comes around, if they're not careful" Copyright K.Keegan
  14. Kenny and, er Paul...
  15. This is where Pepe is unlucky - for me he was our player of the season last year but I probably wouldn't have voted him in the Top 3 that often beacuse so many games he had so little to do. My top 3 1. Hyypia 2. Mascherano 3. Voronin
  16. You are consistently rude and obnoxious to numerous posters on here (not the regular posters mind, just the ones you think are an easy target). I rarely post on here but your cyber-bullying is pathetic. Give it a break eh?
  17. It's like harmison's first delivery in the ashes last winter - so wide it went to second slip...we've got to knock back villa's off stump, er I'm in the wrong forum
  18. Pongolle is still listed on the offal 1st team squad in what is otherwise a totally uptodate list. Has his transfer not gone through yet?
  19. I'm opening a bottle of Torres wine right now to celebrate (£6.29 from Tescos, with 2 bottles of perroni going the other way to sweeten the deal)
  20. I can't believe we told the legend that is Rushie to Berger off
  21. England 2 Italy 0 1977 wembley - keegan and brooking
  22. Carvalho is definitely out of Tuesday's game - definitely this time. Just reported on 5 Live
  23. The 1978 and 1982 World Cups were brilliant - the first 2 I saw on TV. Its really annoying that you can't get highlights of those World Cups on DVD. Has anyone ever been lucky in tracking any down? I'd love to see the Brazil-Italy game from 82 again - best international match ever IMHO
  24. Fantastic post!
