Arsenal’s squad is a level above everyone else. Chelsea also have a deep squad, and no Europe this season. City have a couple of gaps which I am sure they will address before the end of the window. Iraola certainly has his work cut out for him.

Counting on Ekitike for this season is risky. Even when he comes back, it will likely take him months to get back to full fitness. So, realistically, we are looking at a full season with one striker who even if he stays injury free cannot be expected to play 3 games a week.

Barcola, Mbaye, Munoz and Rio is on paper enough wingers, should the first two get done obviously. Problem is, no cover for Isak, which to a certain extent Gakpo does offer.

Plenty of fans weren’t happy with Diaz, selling him substantially weakened the team. I am not Gakpo’s biggest fan, but selling him and not bringing someone else in will again weaken the team.

I don’t think it’s revisionism. One, hopefully he can have a much better season under Iraola, especially as he is likely to have much stronger competition. Two, he can cover Isak, and most here don’t trust the club to bring a replacement in before the window shuts.

I’d be very surprised if Barcola and Mbaye are both not Liverpool players by the end of the month. I would also be very surprised if Jones is here come September. Hopefully we bring in a midfielder to replace him.

Edwards has already gone. Hughes by all accounts is leaving at the end of the current transfer window. Mike Gordon has replaced Edwards, reluctantly I expect as he was happy to have Edwards replace him merely 2 years ago. This for me is a worry as I would much rather someone who considers this role as the pinnacle of their career. One of Woodfine or Ward will most likely replace Hughes.

Saw several videos of the welcome he received by the Trabzonspor fans, so I would like to correct myself somewhat. He must feel they really wanted him there, he is going to be absolutely worshipped, rightly so given what he has achieved in his career.

I don't think I've ever seen him play, but someone whose opinions I value rates him quite highly. Very much in favour of Hughes or Woodfine or whoever coming back from Paris with Barcola, Zabarnyi and Mbaye.

Really bad, and hasn't developed as expected, probably because of these injuries. I would be really happy with Zabarnyi. Had a great season before moving to PSG, knows the manager (head coach rather), still very young, and has Premier League experience.

Even if Bezos does come in as part of a consortium - which by the way is pure speculation at the moment - I highly doubt he'll start throwing money around. Men richer than JWH buying into the club might be nice in theory, but I am a long way off getting excited just yet.
