I asked a guy who works quite high for a london based newspaper last week why the press seem determined to get campebll into the england squad despite the fact that hes been awfull for well over a year now. Lost his pace, carries too much weight and is positioning has gone to pot. His reply was because there is a massive london bias in the press, always has been and always will be due to the fact that they are all based in london. Said if hes being honest, it should be carragher and terry at the back for england, but it will never happen. He said its the same reason why crouch gets so much stick, yet defoe is being pushed by them and kng is built up as an england player despite the fact that hes actually very average. Played one good game against france(that england still lost) and played an ok game in midfield against poor opposition yet was built up as an england midfield regular the next day.
