Not been through the last few pages in detail but heres my take. As things stand, I would think Hicks quietly, is crapping himself. If DIC strike agreement with Gillett, DIC then have the power and capability to massively reduce the valuation of Hcks holding if they chose to do so. If they refuse to endorse further refinancing plans then he's really stuffed and DIC could pick up his 50% for much less and Hicks would have little power to stop it. My other thought is that Gillett knows this to be the case and is therefore trying to screw DIC for the maximum gain as he knows the importance of this stage of proceedings. My guess is that if DIC reach agreement with Gillett, Hicks will cave and quickly fall into line, he simply cannot afford the risk of not doing so.

Look at it this way. Hicks owns 50% and has the opportunity to take that to 100% ownership of one of the 3 most famous football clubs on the planet. Of course he's going to fight tooth and nail to try and hang on in there and get his associates to fund the purchase of the other half. If he's that convinced on the future value of the club, which he seems to be, he'd be mad not to. Lets just hope he fails but I'd be amazed if he wasnt trying like hell.
