Didn't expect us to be brilliant after an international break. He can hardly make big changes when he has no time with them. Confidence is shot throughout the team. We were crap first half but I agree to an extent when he says its been fine margins. Gakpo and Isak should be scoring first half. Salah and Gapko should be scoring second half. Our finishing has been absolutely abysmal lately. Chelsea and Palace we were getting a point until the last kick of each game. And whilst that would be papering over some cracks that's exactly what we needed to do while the team bedded in over the first few months of the season. We all knew it would take some time to click. There are some easy wins for him, I think. Drop Mac, less game time for Salah, more time for Chiesa and Ekitike etc. Kerkez as a tucked in left midfielder is bonkers. We need to grind this out and it won't be an overnight fix. The front players have to start scoring soon and you'd like to think that should alleviate some nervousness elsewhere. Talk of sacking him is ridiculous. He has a huge amount of credit in the bank. Time for calm heads.

Wirtz should be starting every game. He's levels above Macca at the moment.

Think this will be very tight. Don't think we'll lose but won't be easy given how little time Slot has had on the training pitch with them. Would take a scruffy 1-0 win right now.

Some players settle straight away. Others don't for a variety of reasons. Any signing should be afforded more time than 7 league games before the hot takes start about them being duds etc. Not aimed at anyone here specifically but the clamour to make a definitive judgement on players, the title race etc after each weekend of footy is one of my pet peevs of the modern game.

The team was built around him last season. It's not this year. There needs to be a middle ground really. Don't think he'll be here next season so we need to transition to a team that isn't over reliant on him. Not worked it out yet.
