We need a winger. Rogers is not a winger. He plays in the same position as Wirtz. Ask Villa fans if he's guaranteed anything when they were booing him at the beginning of last season when he couldn't get in the starting 11. I rate him but the hype is ridiculous. Should have started ahead of Bellingham at the WC apparently.

I think Barcola is being really underrated in here btw. I reckon he'd be brilliant. If Rogers at £117m is the benchmark then it's difficult to argue why he should be cheaper than that for a team desperare for a wide player with his attributes.

There's always value in the market. It's Richard Hughes's job to find it. Not a chance we're paying the fees being reported for Barcola. Tbf it's only Ben Jacobs who has mentioned 170.

Wouldn't surprise me if we waited for Rayan's release clause to kick in next window. If we box Barcola now and do someone multi functional like Ferran Torres plus Munoz they'll leave it at that and trot out the no value in the market/won't budge from long term targets etc.

Morgan Rogers was on loan at Blackpool at the same age as Dimoande. He'd just signed for Villa from Boro at Barcola's age.

Assuming Barcola doesn't happen that's the best part of two months fckin about on two targets who were long shots at best.
