We'd need three forwards in if he left. Two wingers and a backup no.9. Never going to happen. Plus he's probably got more appearances than the rest of the forward lads combined for us. We've currently got Munoz, Gakpo and Ngumoha (17 yr old kid who has never played on the right) as wide players, right? Isak as a striker. Am I missing anyone? Fkin hell.

Godts to PSG is done. It's surely the small details now for Barcola. They have to sell him as they've got six forwards without him assuming Torres signs. He isn't going to be signed in time for next week so if he's in the squad for Forest and we save £30m that can be spent elsewhere then I guess that's the best we can hope for.

Yeah I know we need an Ekitike replacement. It was the idea that pre injury it should have been a priority as wellI I was questioning.

Even when Ekitike is fit you want a third no.9? Tough sell that to anyone you're trying to recruit. If he wasn't injured we'd be fine with those two and Barcola covering I expect.

I'm not arsed to be missing out on Quansah. We are stocked there now with four options. However, shows how a team serious about defending their title operates when their best defender has an injury. We've done absolutely fck all to mitigate the Ekitike situation.

If Szoboslai was on the market this summer I reckon all our rivals would want him. I reckon he'll be brilliant under Iarola.

Some are saying they want someone who can tackle. I don't watch loads of footy but silky thugs seem hard to come by. Rice and Rodri the only two elite in our league? So in the absence of finding a Rodri clone what do you go for, the silk or the thug?

Not disputing that the best midfielder in the world would make us better. He's much more than just a destroyer anyway, which is what some are advocating for.

Yup. One midfielder will not solve the problem of how porous we have been.

We won the league without a brute. Chelsea have had Caicedo for three years and got nowhere near it. They aren't essential but our current midfield is just not good enough.

Tbf last summer did feel like succession planning with Wirtz, Isak and Leoni. The perceived wisdom was that we would finish it all off over the next few windows. And here we are. New manager, new recruitment team, club for sale and no coherent plan.

Assumed we'd keep Gakpo as he can do a job through the middle as cover for Isak. Sounds like we are going to be well short.

I'd take Wharton as an upgrade on Jones. We don't have anyone in the midfield who can set the tempo like him.
