  1. I know where you're coming from and i dont disagree. Obviously there are those who stump up every summer and have done for years, but even they had to start somewhere. I cant speak for others, but for me personally, i'd love to have the opportunity to pay in advance and get a season ticket, and then keep doing so every summer indefinitely. I fully agree about cross competition loyalty and not just because it'd mean i'd be sorted.
  2. How much would that be, do you think?
  3. No it wasnt, and i didnt mean to come across as if i was having a go, because i wasnt. I've seen the thing about STH paying up front mentioned a lot and it's a valid point, but i'm just saying there's loads of us who'd love to do the same, were there adequate supply to meet the demand.
  4. What i'm making an issue of is that there seems to be quite a strong argument to suggest that not all the remaining tickets of the club's allocation that should have gone into the ballot, did. Against me or not, there's obviously an impact where there's a higher probability than a lower one, whether you acknowledge it or not.
  5. I dont believe it was a 1 in 4 chance, despite whatever's been said on RAWK. I've read loads on several different forums and it's looked like between 10% and 15% that have ended up with a ticket. Each to their own, i'm not here to argue with you.
  6. Possibly not mate, but it's different for different people. Many might've waited before booking flights, hotels etc, until they knew whether they'd get a ticket, if they'd have known how unlikely it was. Not all, granted. But it would've been nice to be in the picture accurately, so that we could make an informed decision. Ah well, what's done is done...
  7. You dont agree that people would've been happier booking flights on the basis that they had a 1 in 3 chance, as opposed to a 1 in 9 chance? Riiiiight...
  8. You dont think that plenty of us non STH would pay up front if we had the chance to? The fact that there's a ST waiting list of apparently 50,000+ makes it difficult for us to do that. If they'd told us exactly what the REAL probability of getting a ticket in the ballot was, many of us might not have booked flights for £500+ prior to the ballot. Word was, it was going to be a 1 in 3 chance in the ballot. Turns out, it's been more like 1 in 9 or something. Based on 1 in 3, it's easier to risk booking a flight, than it is with 1 in 9.
  9. Few empty bottles were thrown on, yes.
  10. Erm....so does a 2-1 away defeat...

    2005 omens

So we'll win them of course!
  12. Isnt consistency the factor which measures who is better? After all, every Premiership side can beat every other, but those who win on a consistent basis are those which occupy the top few positions in the table...and in turn, are the best sides.
  13. Bang on the money Leo, Batistuta used to score 20+ goals a season in Serie A when it was the top league in the world, year in, year out. Along with Klinsmann, i had him down as the best goalscorer/finisher of the 90s.
  14. I've just been watching delayed coverage of this cuptie vs Zaragoza. Gudjohnsen's come on...good to see he's still the spit of a scandanavian albino gnome.
  15. Clear cut? Not many. Saviola's shot which Pepe saved, and the freekick which hit the bar - wasnt going for goal though IMO. Considering they're Barca, they were at home, and we were leading...they provided us with far fewer squeaky bum moments in the latter stages than i would've expected.
  16. I agree, i was thinking the same on the night after we took the lead. But looking at the bigger picture, i just grinned because in the big scheme of things, being annoyed at not getting a third is incredibly greedy I do get where you're coming from though.
  17. I'm quite glad we've got the mancs, none of this piddly 15th placed side at home nonsense. A tough game will get them in the right frame of mind for Barca, whereas an easy walk in the park might leave them overconfident and complacent. Nowt wrong with getting them into a "must be at your best to succeed" mentality a couple of days before barca.
  18. Obviously we'd do well to exercise a level of caution, but as has been mentioned, Zaragoza and Bilbao arent LFC. Sevilla will be a much better barometer IMO.
  19. One would hope that Gillett and Hicks will be onto this type of opportunity.
  20. Dont think that counts mate, as that broadcast wasnt a UK broadcast. At least, not legally anyway. Anyone who has setanta and watched that, or pubs that showed it, was breaking the law, technically speaking.

    Pennant

He's got better, but to be brutally honest, he's gone from poor, to ineffective, to average. Improvement is always good. Needs to be quite a bit more though. By miles. Do you think we will?
  22. Class act Pepe. Might not get to equal the 30, but 20 odd is still impressive enough. A peak, by definition, is not maintainable
  23. First thing Gray said when Valdes pushed the ball out was "It's in"....
  24. "But the Liverpool fans that night were amazing. I have never heard anything like it before and I don't think I ever will again. I walked out into that cauldron and heard that singing and saw that passion. The hairs on my arms were standing up." - John Terry, Chelsea Club Captain Meanwhile Mourinho has sent out a message to the Chelsea fans, saying they should get behind the team they way Liverpool fans do. Only 29,000 turned up to for Chelsea last home Champions League game, against Anderlecht. Mourinho said "There is a lesson to be learned from Anfield. I'd never seen it before and i have to take my hat off to them. Liverpool were losing 4-1 at home and the Anfield fans were proudly singing the club's song. That's impressive"
