  1. That is exactly what's hurting chelsea now. Buying expensive stars is great, when everything in the garden is rosey. But when the going gets tough, the greedy mercenaries get found out and it exposes the lack of hunger. Most of those players at Chelsea went for the money and lack the desire and passion required to slug it out, when times are hard. You dont win titles by playing nice passes and displaying exquisite touches when you're 3-0 up and playing keepball. You win titles by working your backsides off and putting your body on the line, to cover the holes that appear when things arent going your way. That's why titles are earnt, not bought, And that's why, in the shape of players like Ashley Cole, Ballack, Kalou and Shevchenko, Chelsea's title challenge is dying out. They're here for the money and the glory, but they arent prepared to give 100% to actually earn it. The big money mercenaries. Aside from not wanting Man Utd to win the title, the exposure of these mercenaries, through the form of their failure, is extremely satisfying to watch.

Seems the opposite to me. Saw a couple of occasions where i wanted him to shoot, and he looked for the pass. If anything, Bellamy's the more selfish one, going for goal a couple of times, from very difficult angles, when there were options available in the middle.
  3. Charlton at home?
  4. How long before Kewell is meant to be fit again, out of interest?
  5. Fecking cracked up when the tool said that.
  6. Every home, barring if we have another midweek this calendar, not including PSV, Bordeaux and Portsmouth which i'll be at....and as many aways as i can get a ticket for, managed 10 last season, only done Sheff United and the mancs away so far this campaign.
  7. Good stuff Leo, long time to see. But then, i dont spend that much time on here I think you've definitely got something. Not sure i'd put the mortgage on it, TBH. But i do have some kind of weird feeling that this season will have a bit of a sting in the tale and the fact that we're only 6 points adrift of top spot having already lost 3 games seems to act like some kind of strange omen. I do feel that we'll need to take something from Old Trafford in a couple of weeks time, but that aside (and Arsenal away obviously), we've got a nice run of games coming up and like yourself, i think we'll soon be seeing a good few consecutive wins begin to be rattled off. As you rightly say, it does seem as though the title will be won with a smaller points tally this time around and if we're talking about the 80-85 points sector, we're certainly capable. I remember that you normally tend to talk sense, so fingers crossed.
  8. I was talking about Campbell to Fenerbahce for £8m... I posted a thread about it, but it got merged and therefore the title (which basically mentioned what it was about) isnt accessable now. But anyway, yeah, Sol Campbell, 32 (next birthday) has been sold to Fenerbahce for £8m... Good deal for them...as i say
  9. Good deal for the gooners, he's 32 and going downhill.
  10. Didnt see this coming

That's a little different then, it came across as though your interpretation of a 'bit of edge' was someone who comes out with the Hillsborough/Munich tripe, and goes around wanting to start fights and cause havoc, for no apparent reason.... Basically, the kind of scum which football doesnt need.

Because it's purely a choice of one or the other, with no in-between? And a 'bit of edge' equates to vandalism, violence and scoring points with references to deaths of innocent fans, does it? You'd be matey with United fans who have enough 'edge' to take the piss out of those who lost their lives at Hillsborough then, would you? After all, a bit of 'edge' is great, isnt it?
  14. Just checked, Pirlo's only been at Milan since 2001-2002 and Milan werent even in the CL for that season, they played in the UEFA Cup.... Link That stat isnt right.
  15. I'm almost 100% sure that Milan havent even PLAYED in FIVE finals since he's been there, let alone 8... He's not that old, what is he, mid 20s? They'd had to have played in every CL final since he joined for that to be accurate.
  16. Nah he hasnt. Seedorf holds the record for CL wins, with 4.
  17. Pass had pace on it, Dida just comes out and gathers. But he hesitates. Giuly scores. Goalkeeping error? Or not?
  18. Actual team is: Reina, Finnan, Carra, Hyypia, Traore, Gerrard, Sissoko, Alonso, Riise, Garcia, Crouch Morientes on the bench and Traore in. Looks like Stevie spun you some yarn, Elisha
  19. Ok, i should've said 'to my recollection', oh Mister patronising....
  20. I cant help but wonder if we're too 'nice' to really challenge.... Chelsea are complete c**** as we all know, with their diving, harrassing refs and general all-round arsey-ness... And United have been at it for years....obviously stalking referees, but also sly tactics like withdrawing players from internationals, with mysterious injuries which clear up for the next game....not to mention the diving antics of horseface and ronaldo.... We've never been like that....and nor would i want us to be - at least, not to such an extent. But we never push the boundaries.....we've always been very 'in line' with football ethics and ettiquete (sp?). Even to the extent today where, after Warnock had that incident with Toure, where Toure went in two footed and injured himself....we had the throw in, and fecking threw it back to them - even though the ball went out of play courtesy of the 50-50 challenge - they hadnt put it out or anything. I was fuming at that, and it got me thinking - do we lack the 'nasty' streak you maybe need to win things? Are ruthless enough, in our thinking? Or am i just reading something into nothing?
  21. What, in this case, is 'it' ?
  22. Prize money aside, there's little difference between 3rd and 4th, is there?
  23. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Rafa wanted Alonso more. Not saying it's definitely true, but it's not unquestionable nonsense, either. Suppose it depends how much value you attach to what Ballague says...
