We are hurting by missing injured players in key positions. If you compare the back four that played against Arsenal at Anfield last year when we battered them, Arbeloa, Agger, Carragher and Aurellio, 3 out of the four are quite comfortable and competent on the ball both passing wise and moving forward with it. There is also more pace in that line up allowing a higher line to be held. This would allow the midfield to press further up the pitch. If that back 4 had been available and Torres fully fit then Babel might well have played with Gerrard being the right hand of 3 behind the striker this could have been Benayoun, with all 3 being able to switch around. Even allowing for Torres going off injured the line up could have been kept the same with Crouch coming on to offer a differing kind of threat. Alonso going off hurt our game, even half fit he dictates our play and keeps us ticking over he is able to get the ball under pressure and hold it and keep us moving, Masch getting injured not long after didn't paricularly help either. Yes Arsenal played well and looked very good and threatening in parts but to discount there were also times when we created opportunities against them is to dismiss a hard earned point which could have been zero or if injury hadn't lost us Xabi also might have been 3. Possession does not tell a whole story of a match by itself. I won't lie to myself it is a bit bit frustrating watching us having to dig in and grind out a result like that on our own patch, but it's around 6 months since they went home well beaten when they were struggling for any sort of form, this after the mythical Wenger wonder team had "destroyed" us both at the Emirates and at Anfield. Wenger has been given the time and patience to build what is being displayed at this moment , something that I don't think a manager at Liverpool will get. It's easy in hindsight to say give player X a run of games but how long until sections of the crowd is on their backs if they are not performing to what is expected. This is what it all boils down to expectations. They are much higher because we crave that League title back more than anything, to be the best once again. To have those expectations raised after Instanbul and Athens, we were right back on our perch, well almost. These last steps are seeming hard to take. Maybe Rafa has made some "mistakes" but he is only human afterall. It is just that the weight of expectation is hanging very heavy at the moment and in this day and age everything is wanted ASAP. Frustration is totally natural when things are not going to expectations and venting of these frustrations is going to happen, hey opinions are like belly buttons, everyone's got one but none of them hold much water. We all want what's best for the club maybe it's just a case of managing our own expectations.

just a b/s article; thinking they can attack it from a different angle, throw in a mention of heysel straight affter everton/derby followed by hillsborough and there it is! badooff! the death of english football. It does not count if our lower caste east lancs neighbours sell out(they are entitled to, as "THE biggest club in the world" (sorry i forgot any trademark branding). Russian money making Chelsea, whilst being rinsed and countless others selling the soul of english football. Maybe it really only hits home, that when the greatest club in the history (not just the lsat 10 years, although our silver haul is enough to make 96.6% of clubs jealous with envy)of the english game has to decide to join, before just beating them
