Robertson will be here next year before retiring up to Scotland. Kerkez looks done. This close season is big, but next year's will be monumental. 14 players due to enter last 28 months including Salah and VvD but it's OK because Nunez is signed up until 2028.

I can see Elliott being very similar to Cherki (in a couple of years) I'd personally rather keep Harvey.

Cherki has a bit of Hazard about him, potentially mercurial but doesn't have an athletic body type (and therefore questionable longevity).

Virgil van Dijk is yet to reach an agreement over a new contract but is “not panicking” over the delay, insisting “there will be news” and he “loves the club.” 2 days ago.

After VvDs comments about contract stuff being released in next few weeks, supposedly all the details of all three will be addressed by end of April. News will start leaking over next week or so. Big summer for Slot/Edwards/Hughes/FSG.

So comparing Gordon (& his potential/ age/ HG status) in a Newcastle team playong their way v Diaz in our team is a straight comparison? Is it not could Gordon be better than Diaz? And Gordon will be 50m and Diaz sale for a player with a higher potential, 4 years younger and HG status (English tax and all that too)
