Cheers Hodg, you are correct. Thing is, we've spent a fair bit of money since they've been here. Most of it has been wasted - which isn't unusual for LFC - so clearly they haven't gotten the decision right about WHO should be making the decisions on transfers, but the money has been spent. So 5/10 is because the people they've put in the upper positions of the club have been wrong - Ayre, Rodgers (probably), Commoli. But they've brought in some of the finest youth/U-21 coaches in Europe by all accounts, and they brought in some of the highest rated scouts around (although clearly something's gone wrong there). So I don't buy that they don't give a s*** and etc, etc., otherwise why bother? It's possible that they do give a s*** but are also kind of s*** at football.

Both of those posts would be relevant if I'd said we were competing for the top players. I didn't. We spunked a s*** ton of money last summer on wages and transfer fees for a massive pile of mediocrity. Most of us, at some point or another, have bemoaned this. So complaining that we don't splash cash is daft. We're just wasting it on s*** rather than spending it where we need to. No it doesn't, it makes it sound like it's Friday. We've clearly been 'working on' that transfer for at least a couple of weeks by all accounts. It's not a stretch to envision a world where football clubs have banking hours in the summer.

You mean like last summer? And the summer before? We're s*** at targeting the right players, but suggesting we're not paying fees/wages is just daft.

You understand though that I'm not defending them at all, I don't give a s*** about them either. I'm just stating my opinion. Which is basically: I don't think they're not c****. I don't think they have some cunning plan to f*** us over. I don't think they are advancing us in the way that we should be advancing.

Nothing wrong with that statement, and I agree with you. Implying people who disagree with you are doing so because they've been influenced by FSG though, that's a bit s***.

Here we go. Not thinking they're c**** does not equal me not thinking they're not doing a good enough job. Not thinking they're c**** does not equal me caring about them. They're not performing right now, as evidenced by the fact that we just finished a s*** season and at this point there appears to be no change in plan. What they put on their marketing website doesn't bother me one bit.

Good catch, missed that. Even so, don't see why it matters. Anyone know of any owners out there that aren't trying to increase the average spend of their fans? Whether it be match-day fans or internet shoppers? It's a silly thing to complain about.

Right, that's their marketing company. They market. Ignoring the fact that nowhere on that website does it say 'turning fans into customers' - a large chunk of us for years bemoaned the fact that we were s*** at generating revenue. Now you're complaining that the group that own us have a division that creates revenue. It's just a dumb stick to beat them with Molby. You and many others make some really great points about some of the things they've f***ed up, and their absence - but stuff like this is just pointless.

Possibly so, although I doubt they love anything other than money. This is my favourite thing that people do, change the entire hub of a discussion. Neither of those things have any relevance to what I asked. They definitely said the first one, not sure I remember the second - but either way, it's nothing to do with the original point. Balls it is, let's see it.

Only because it was stated like it was a fact. I dunno man, they don't and haven't shown any signs of selling the Red Sox at any point, and their valuation has increased dramatically since they bought them. But you're right in that if they sold right now, they'd make a fat profit. Right but I never said they said that so that's a pointless argument.
