Of course we will or already do make money from Twitter... there's a reason it's got such a high valuation. It creates engagement and immediate news/publicity releases that those kinds of fans lap up.

Exactly. In isolation it's a pretty simple solution, offer him more money. But clubs have wage structures in place for a reason. McManaman, Owen, Rush all left us because they wanted the challenge of a different league, a different country. If Sterling is leaving so he can make more money, then whatever.

This is one of those theories that's been said so many times that people act like it's a fact. There have been umpteen interviews where it was made clear that when BR came in he considered Stevie his guy for that position. Then he bought Emre Can last season, who is surely a candidate for it long term, as well as having Lucas on the books who already plays that role too. Add Milner to that mix as a candidate, and I don't get where that theory comes from. Yes, we could use a world class player there - Matic improved Chelsea immeasurably - but it's not like BR is totally ignoring that role.
