One thing that is of note is how we've faired against the top sides, we seem to draw 2-2 against them after having the the better of them. We seem to be 1 player away from achieving that balance without taking too much from attack. -

a point i guess, and in the cold light of the morning it does make sense, but they were reeling and we had the ascendancy - and i felt we lost some momentum. Cracking game though and Shelvey should have buried his chance. -

I think it all boils down to us standing off in the second half, hate seeing that but against a team like Arsenal it's hard not to sit deep as they are so scarily quick. Not seen us sit so deep since Houllier was in charge. Needed to get fresh legs on and maintain the pressing high up the field as that was breaking down all their moves before they could get going.

It's proven too that performance bonuses are counter productive due to the stress caused by them, people on higher basic with less incentives actually perform better.

Last season he was a very, very effective sub for city upping the tempo and keeping their momentum going and integral to breaking through a few teams that parked the bus. He's really come on since playing with top players but very close to his sell by date. For a rest of season loan he really could prove invaluable. Mcallister like in fact.

thing is, they have not exactly been cheap in this market (£30 mill innit?) , it just doesn't feel like they have bought the right players. Although at least even i can see the players bought this time are better than the last lot, on account of the last lot ding f'all.

don't get it - it's not luxury players we can do without, it's an absolute necessity to get at least two players in.
